In case it makes anyone feel any better the (Steph-less) Warriors are getting absolutely boatraced by the Wemby-less Spurs and Vassell is out tonight too
The spurs aren’t bad. They’ve been tanking all year for some reason. They are a 30ish win team with their current personnel.
The Spurs might very well be "bad" in terms of the overall 82 game season, but they haven't been bad lately, as I just pointed out above.

IMO many make the mistake of just looking at the standings and not recognizing or acknowledging how a team has been performing in the present time. As pointed out above, they've played 4 out of their past 6 on the road and have beaten OKC, Indiana, and now likely GSW in the process. All while nearly beating the KINGS and playing the T-Wolves competitively in Minneapolis. They only lost to one sub. 500 team in Houston.

Considering their wins over OKC and Indy, along with their performance tonight w/o arguably their 2 top players, the KINGS miraculously eeking out a 'W' against them the other night shouldn’t be viewed as an insult at all. I'll bet OKC, Indy and GSW sure wished they'd been able to eke out W's against them!

When SA was in the midst of their 18-game losing streak back in Nov/Dec -- totally different story.

FWIW, the Spurs have managed wins this season against: PHX (twice), LAL, Minny, OKC, Indy, and GSW. All winning teams. Two of them are currently leading the Western Conference.

Some good news, at least, is the Suns just lost again at home to Boston so now the KINGS are back in the 6th spot.

They also gained a game on GSW who is in 10th place after their loss to San Antonio tonight.

Hopefully our KINGS can find a way to take care of business against a Rockets team they struggled mightily with earlier this season to start putting some space between them and PHX.
