WCS replaces Cousins, defense ramps up. Again not perfect, Willie makes some silly mistakes but damn does he try.
That's about all you ask for, effort. Be quiet and just play the game. Everybody else seems to be doing it but our main player which is frustrating to say the least.

Cousins is playing like he doesn't care. Did this a few games ago against the Rockets.
Strange. Almost like he's butt-hurt the team played an inspiring and cohesive game without him and his ego took a blow he wasn't allowed to the party. He is also not engaging in a running dialogue with refs like normal and may miss that drama. This is the worst game I have seen him play this year.

These threads are never very fun to read when the 'fans' start turning on our own. Seems to me that Cousins came in tonight with something on his mind. Perhaps it is all the people, he considers himself loyal to, saying we would be better without him or something similar.
It's not as if this is something new among the media. Bringing him down, turning him into a cancerous player, etc. He needs to be stronger than that, he has a franchise on his shoulders that he needs to lead. Not worry about what the outside world has to say about him. It's time to check the ego at the door and leave it there for good, too bad that is highly unlikely.

Well despite a game that was as ugly is a soviet-era Russian pornography we actually gained some ground and some guys not named Demarcus look like they want to win. And once again I don't know where this Ben MacLemire came from but I'll keep him

I'm quite serious when I say I don't think he's hurt, maybe never was.

If he wanted a chance to stay he blew it. But I think that writing was on the wall. If he had stepped up with rudy out, who knows. Instead he sat, the team adjusted, and now if he sets foot on the floor again there's a healthy chance it will just be the obligatory "see, he's healthy enough to trade" game just before the deadline.
Why would he sabotage his own career like that? Just because he didn't like the way he was treated by Joerger? Seems far fetched.

Coach is going to make his money tonight when he has to make his choice about putting Cuz back in or not. (He shouldn't, IMO)

No, it's simpler than that. Millsap is strong and mobile and gives Cousins trouble defensively, especially with Howard lurking inside to help out and add physicality with Koufos unable to help out. So he's frustrated and Millsap scoring on the other end is exacerbating that.

The bigger issue to me is Cousins loafing, committing dumb fouls and otherwise not helping his team when he gets frustrated. It makes me think that if the Kings ever do make the playoffs and teams scheme better and play more physically that he'd do the same thing.

On a positive note, Tolliver continues to make the right play and is showing more and more lately.
