    MARVIN BAGLEY III

Is Total Rebounding Percent a particularly useful stat when looking at someone like Bagley who played next to another top caliber big man in Wendell Carter?

    MARVIN BAGLEY III

I remember Durant, Oden, Rose, and a lot of other talented high draft picks struggling mightily in Summer League. It just isn't a great context for evaluating a player.

    Who has All-Star Potential?

Fox is the only one with a decent shot at reaching the all-star game, but I'd say there is at least a chance Giles or Skal could make it. Both have missed a lot of time because of injuries, not to mention playing limited minutes in college, and show a lot of promise despite that.

What exactly is the story with Giles' knees anyway?

Can anyone remember a player or prospect with a similar injury history who has ever returned to form? Shouldn't we know after a year or so what level of an athlete he is going to be going forward? I've just always thought that by the time a player was ready to step on the court that they would...

    The Official Draft Day thread

Love Mason at 34. He mirrors IT in a lot of ways: great athleticism, shooting ability, and ball-handling, with all the intangibles you could ask for in player. I think he can be a starter in the NBA, and if nothing else a solid back-up.

    The Official Draft Day thread

Trading down out of the lottery, even late at #10, is such a bad idea. No one at 15 or 20 is going to have the potential or likelihood for success that Monk would have had.

There's nothing to teach. The guy is a textbook stiff. He's not an nba player.

Kings and free agency - part 2

Christ, I can already see us winning the lottery this year and having to swap picks with the f'ing Sixers.

Kings trade JT, Nik and Landry to Sixers (renamed)

The idea of a pick swap just seems like a disaster waiting to happen. I'd like to believe we will make it to the playoffs next year, but the West is still deep, our coach and best player are at odds with each other, and talent-wise we are likely one major injury away from the lottery. We are...

Kings trade JT, Nik and Landry to Sixers (renamed)

I'm a little unclear on our draft pick situation the next few years. Doesn't Cleveland get next years draft pick, unprotected? edit: nevermind Rain man just explained this in his post

Vlade speaks about WCS, George Karl, etc.

A few things... 1. The ability to demand respect from players, coaches, agents, and other executives is one of the most important qualities for a GM to have. I can't fathom Pete or Vivek trying to broker peace between a player and coach who might both end up in the Hall of Fame. But a former...

One AND ONLY Cousins trade rumors thread

I'm always skeptical of journalists who write stories with anonymous sources making essentially unfalsifiable claims . Anyone can reasonably infer from the recent leaks (the majority of which almost certainly come from Fegan) that Vivek would have cause to consider terminating Karl. And there is...

Willie Cauley-Stein is your newest Sacramento King

Very happy with this pick. WCS has DPOY potential and will be able to make an impact right away. We could eventually have the best frontcourt in the NBA with him, Cousins, and Rudy.

    [Game] Kings-Spurs Vegas Summer League - 7/11/14

Ben or Nik need to tear it up tonight to make today less depressing.

Kings select for the 8th pick - Nik Stauskas

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Brandon Roy. He and Stauskus are almost identical physically, too. The big differences are that Roy was more explosive and a better rebounder, while Stauskus is a better shooter (comparing their collegiate careers).

Kings select for the 8th pick - Nik Stauskas

I know people think I'm crazy for saying he reminds me of Brandon Roy, but they really do have similar games. He isn't as explosive as I remember Roy being, but they are both excellent ball-handlers and passers for their position. I can definitely see Stauskus running the point for short stretches.

The Official NBA Draft Day Thread 2014 Edition

I don't dislike Stauskus himself as a prospect, in my mind he is a lesser Brandon Roy with a very high likelihood of reaching that potential, but taking him over Payton, who has greater potential at a more critical position, was a mistake. There is also the issue that we just spent two straight...

Kings select for the 8th pick - Nik Stauskas

Taller Jimmer is a significant improvement in and of itself, considering that Jimmer essentially was a 6'1 SG who was also a poor athlete. Stausksus has neither of those issues.

How would you grade D'Alessandro so far to this point??

I'd give him an A so far. He extended Cousins, traded for Gay, didn't overpay for Tyreke, and got rid of some dead weight while doing all this. The only thing that might drop him a grade would be if Mclemore ends up being a bust, but almost the entire draft class looks poor at the moment so I'll...
