This could mean that Vogel, or another top candidate is intervening to try to get the job before Dave got it. But I've got that Charlie Brown feeling that Lucy pulled the football one more time.

I've read that 3 times and still can't understand what you're saying. Could you put it in different terms?

I think we sometimes forget that the Coach and his family are people to. Here is the part of that story that stresses that point for me:

"As is always the case when a coach contemplates his future, there are factors beyond the basketball. Like money, for one, and the Kings' possible willingness to double Joerger's salary would certainly check that box. Joerger made $2 million annually in Memphis, and the current expectation is that he would make approximately $4 million per year if a Kings deal gets done.

What's more, the forthcoming opening of the Kings' downtown arena next season and the chance to usher in a new era is a major point of attraction for Joerger. There's a family dynamic as well, as Joerger's wife, Kara, is an avid rider of horses who has a passion for barrel racing and, conceivably, could be very comfortable in the Northern California region where such pastimes are certainly possible."

My point was the news that people tapping brakes might mean the kings are looking at other coaching options that could be better or a better fit. But my gut is telling me that I just got my hopes up for nothing. No speculation on who we finally will sign

Honestly, if I were Joerger I would at least listen to a Houston offer before signing with the Kings, if not just to open Vivek's wallet a little bit more.

The more I read up on the situation, the more potential for drama I see down the line. ..

Which is why I'd still prefer Blatt or Vogel, but Joerger can definitely coach!

On the other hand, if my quick sojourn into the forums of realgm is any indication, Grizz fans are pissed! A lot of them see where Joerger was coming from, as the owner is supposedly a cheapskate and the GM hasn't been doing him any favors with an aging roster.

One thing to love: Joerger sure as hell isn't going to have Cuz running around jacking 3s!
It takes two to tango ....er, tangle.

That explains the interviewing of Henry Bibby and Elston Turner. That would give more information to Vlade on Dave Joerger as well as whether or not Vlade would want them as assistant coaches here. Vlade is a genius
Ah, yes, Vlade is a genius because he thinks like you. I see. :D

I hope no matter who the head coach is, that Big Nasty is an assistant.

Well that escalated quickly. A young defensive coach strongly linked to the Kings.

It was weird that we were not linked to Vogel but this might explain why.

I would be very happy with this hire if we can pull it off. Hell there are so many good coaches available it would be hard to **** it up at this point!
For the last month I have semi-quietly been thinking this. One of my comments was that there were 50 competent people for 30 jobs and I thought that was a tad over stated. Is it? ;)

Another new language? One problem with getting older is that you not only need to know all the idioms of the past but you have to learn all the new ones. Sometimes a guy just gets tired. I must thank all you youngsters for keeping me up on new jargon. What the hell does this mean?

I'm just kind of assuming "riders" is a horse riding thing?
