Kings and free agency - part 2

There's plenty of reasons to worry about these moves. Rondo had a bad year. Marco is good. However, you just gave up a lot more than anyone to do so. Phoenix just dumped salary and got a pick back.

The Kings just got used over and over by agents for leverage. The image of the team is terrible and it's not just twitter hacks as the cause. Everything has to go right for things to change.

Otherwise, it's a disaster.
Rondo's bad year is the only thing to worry about.

Besides our ongoing Karl/Cuz drama.

Assure me '11-12 Rondo just signed and we are sitting pretty having cleared spare parts and added contributors at 3 positions, with money still left over.

Toss a vet min at Miller at the end of the day and you could have mediocre but deep and experienced backcourt with enough answers not to lose games at least.

Belinelli/McLemore/Anderson
Rondo/Collison/Miller/McCallum

Yeah, Phoenix got one second round pick back. We got two.

So now we have 2 guys on our roster who have NBA championships and played a pretty big role in them. When is the last time we've had somebody who won a championship?

The Kings dumped more in salary than the Suns, so it would make sense you would have to sweeten the pot right?

The Suns got a second round pick back in 2020. 2nd round picks are overrated.

This guy played nicely during the world championship in Spain. Was one of the notable bigs on that competition. High energy player that has a face that could instantly break someones bone whenever necessary. LOL

Would be a good pickup, IMO.
So far no team in the west has significantly improved this year. That could be good for the Kings. Time to go all in.
We just have to hope Aldridge chooses the Spurs over the Suns. The Suns weakened themselves with their cap space trade and it would be awesome to see them left with just Chandler and Knight to show for it.

Does anyone have an updated cap situation for the Kings?
Not exactly, since we don't know the exact first year number for Marco. But maybe about $5.5mil in year 1, with Rondo at $9.5mil (maybe, some say $10). So about $15 between the two of them, and I believe we were at $24+mil free after the trade, so maybe about $9+mil free now?

I like the idea about using the Room MLE to resign Casspi BTW. Use up the cap room on other things, Room MLE on Casspi, then add in some vet min type stuff to fill things out.

Hall of Famer
I dig it.

Casspi was ballin' under Karl. He has his limitations, but he has definitely improved over the course of his career, he scraps, and he is a great locker room/character guy. Throw in that he actually likes Sac...I say do it!

edit: "I dig it" was a response to Bricklayer.... Not me digging IT. I shoulda threw a quote in there.

he has the potential to be a Mozgov contributor, though I don't he's as mobile as Mozgov
No he doesn't.

He has the potential to be a decent 4th big and a guy who can hold the fort down for a few mins while Cuz sits.

Legit 7 footer who's physical. Good footwork. Can drop a nice post move every now and then at this level. Mozgov is a top 5-7 defensive center on this planet.

Bring him in with Koufas and now we're talking. I'd also consider Jordan Hill and maybe Matt Bonner, as a vet like Bonner and his floor spreading would be a decent option. Good locker room guy.

Why are some of the Sacramento guys so negative? CMD was saying yesterday that he didn't like giving Wes all that money and he'd prefer if we just be patient and get other guys..so we don't get Wes, instead we get Belinelli at less than half of Wes and we sign a 1 year prove it deal with Rondo. We still have 10million left in cap.. Zeller thinks we will suck this season too.

Just not understanding why of all times, NOW is when they become pessimistic.

They must be upset that we didn't use our space for Lebron
