[Game] Kings @ Bobcats, 12/17/13 4 PM PST

Not necessarily: Clifford seems content to manage offensive possessions, the way Van Gundy used to. To say nothing of the fact that "aren't as bad as they used to be" =/= "good."
Thanks for the clarity. Well they aren't much better than they used to be. In case anyone missed us, we shot ourselves out of the game.
This game is absolutely more on us than it is a testament to how "good" they are.

Um...he's the one who is missing all of the shots. He's taken 22 shots the next closest is Cousins with 13 and no-one else even has double digits...that's unacceptable for a PG.
Who's the hot shooter he should be looking for then? He would have more assists if ANYONE would hit a damn shot. McLemore and Rudy were awful.

At least he didn't turn it over on that last play where he got caught in the air, and managed to pass it to Cousins. He normally has one or two of those turnovers a game.
He had at least one where he started the bobcats fast break by flinging it out toward half court.

He's the PG, who do you expect to be handling the ball. It's not his fault EVERYONE is missing shots. Not to mention that last play wehre Ben brought it up...and lost it.
It's not exactly a criticism of IT and it's not exactly a criticism of Malone either. Thomas is very good at what he does, but he's limited as a distributor. He creates looks by aggressively attacking the defense. Charlotte was sitting back in the passing lanes and using IT's aggressiveness against him, forcing him to make a tough shot or a tough pass. We don't really have any other options at PG right now so I don't know what Malone is supposed to do differently with the rotation. But we have a lot of weapons on the wing who were just completely overlooked in this game as our offense devolved into a two man game between Cousins and IT. That might work some nights but Charlotte is too smart defensively to let two players beat them.

Isaiah took the same number of shots (23) as DeMarcus, Rudy, and D-Will put together.

way to set your teammates up there Isaiah
While true, Rudy was having an awful game shooting. And he must have had three drives in a row where he turned it over driving to the basket. D-Will doesn't seem to get any offensive consideration period no matter who is playing point. When we ran that bench unit, Outlaw and Jimmer were chucking jumpers and I'm wondering why D-Will doesn't get more touches there when he's shown in his time with us to be pretty efficient scoring the ball.

11-14 in the East hardly suggests that. They've beaten terrible teams (us) and lost to the teams they should lose to.
Let them go on a west coast road trip and get at least to the All Star break before we start talking about how the Bobcats have really improved.
They're one of the top teams defensively.

There was one very bad team on the court tonight. Guess who it was?

If I'm a bobcats fan, if there is such a thing, I would have seen this game as a must win.

It absolutely does suggest that. As does their defense. It doesn't mean that they're good, it means that they're much better. But, by all means, feel free to continue to diminish their improvement at your own discretion.

Gerald Henderson is a excellent player I remember suggesting we should trade him for Reke I wonder how many of you would do it now if we still could? They signed him super cheap as well for the player he is what a bargain

K, I will, thanks for permission.
11-14 in the East...playing almost exclusively weak EC teams...
no.
They are marginally better but still a bad team.
I am simply arguing that we were terrible tonight and people shouldn't play the victim here and say
"Oh well, at least we lost to a good team"
I've been pretty clear about that.

We really need to get some defense out of guards. They got 7 points from Zeller, 10 from Jefferson, and 5 from McRoberts for a total of 22 on 25 shots. Perfectly accepted for the Kings. Even IT's poor shooting night could be overlooked, if the guys play some better defense we win this one easily. That period where Kemba scored 10 points in 2 minutes during the third is where I felt we let the game get away from us.

IT was awful. Gay was bad. JT played stupidly. McLemore has no confidence whatsoever and had a rough time of it (putting it nicely as he's a rook).

Cousins was dominant and I couldn't blame him if he felt like strangling all his teammates in the lockerroom, bar Acy, who worked his ass off and did well in his minutes.

Cousins, Thompson, Williams and Acy shot 17/25 (68%).

Everyone else shot 13/55 (23.6%)

IT's 8/23 hurts in more ways than one bit McLemore, Jimmer, Outlaw and Gay combining to go 5/32 is what cost the Kings this game.

Yeah, and no one ever called them a good team.

And you just agreed with me by saying they are marginally better.

Actually I didn't even go that far. I said they are not as bad as they used to be. Which is saying very very little since they were 21-61 last year.
