Hall of Famer
And they haven't even started a road trip yet... They want to sell tickets, but unless they start making some moves the Kings will have a hard time selling tickets... Being a fan is hard sometimes when they are not even competitive. This new ownership group needs to spend some $$ and get some talent.
Or get a high draft pick.

Malone - My challenge is to not allow your offensive struggles to affect how you play defense. That's what a lot of players do. When they make shots, they become better defenders. Well, defense has to be our constant. As we make more shots and score the ball at a better percentage, that will definitely help our defense because we can get back and we can get set. They go hand in hand, but for me offense is always the beginning of our defense. Our ability to take care of the ball, our ability to execute and our ability to get high percentage are all going to allow our defense to get better.

Reader's Digest version:

Starters sucked. Nobody could hit a jumper to save their lives. MT should be shot. Bench got us back but couldn't hold the lead. Starters were intentionally left on the bench for the rest of the game, as they should have been.
Thanks for the summary. What did Thornton do that was so terrible? His statline wasn't great, but he didn't lay an egg like Thompson.

And your point is? The message is "If you're going to play like crap, don't expect to get back into the game when the bench has saved your arse. Either give 100% all the time or ride the pine. You will not be rewarded for poor play by being allowed to come back in when you haven't earned it. The guys who earned it will finish out, win or lose. If that bothers you, THEN FREAKING TRY HARDER!"
That's all well and to the good, as long as Cousins took home the message he was trying to send. But, what if he didn't? Who's Ranadive going to ride with if it comes down to Cousins or the coach, for the third straight time?

Wait...didn't they just fork out $64 million to lock up our franchise player another 4 years? I didn't have expectations of a WINNING season...yes, it would have been nice, but I know dissecting and reforming this team into a winner will take more than just 2 months of an offseason. The one thing they DID do: add to our FUTURE core with drafting Saclemore, trading for Vasquez, and locking up Cousins. This NEXT offseason, now THAT will be some fun...we'll have a truckload of $ to sign either 1 marquee or 2 very good role players to fill our needs...and re-sign IT.

i know this team isn't going to the playoffs and record isn't very important. but showing improvement over last season and going towards the future is the main point of this season, and so far we look terrible

Whoever is in the "Win Now" fan base is delusional because believe me this a work in progress. They played with some grit tonight but lets face it Memphis has recently been a power house and Gasol is the best C in the league as of right now.
They want to win 35 games and miss out in one of the best draft class. They probably wanted tyreke and iggy so we could become the 6-7 seed and lose one the 1st round every year

Granger, Deng, Sefolosha...any of those guys would fill our SF role and add TONS to the team, including probably another 10 wins I'd say, if not more. SF is obviously our weakness, but Pete D even told us what he was doing in the offseason by NOT trading/signing anyone, and saying he got a couple of temporary guys to fill the slot...this season wasn't meant to be a duct taped, good on paper team that was meant to win 35 games and look sometimes entertaining, it was ALWAYS meant to be exactly this: development of Malone as coach, get our stud rook Saclemore some minutes and get his feet wet for experience, and lock up our rock in Cousins. Anyone else thinking anything else outside of that was pure dreaming, IMO.

You'd like to THINK that, wouldn't you!

Time will tell, I guess. For a change, I hope you're right.
I think he's right. I just spoke to KG4, whose seat afforded her an excellent view of the Kings bench. She said it looked as though DMC and Malone exchanged words during one of the timeouts. DMC was cheering for the bench, and didn't appear to be pouting. Just her opinion, but she thinks DMC understood what was going on...
