Welcome threads

I would prefer that we end the tradition of putting up welcome threads when so many people are just going to tear that player to shreds. If you must, why not tear em up in a more appropriate thread?
This is the dark side of social media which I obviously don’t appreciate.
Say what you wish. Just do it in an appropriate thread.

The Queta thread has largely remained true to its purpose. The Mitchell thread has devolved into loud shouting.

I'm not upset about it and I am sure the mods have better things to do but rather than end the tradition moving the naysayers to their own thread or putting their posts in the draft megathread would be a better compromise?

So, as a mod, let me proclaim a few things.

#1 - Welcome threads are a good thing, and we should keep the tradition
#2 - If the welcome thread gets out of control, the mods should step in
#3 - My bad, but it's Friday night and I'm drunk off my ass. Maybe I can be useful in fixing things that need to be fixed tonight, and maybe not. Again, my bad.
