Ok since there so much argueing and bickering about Pedja. I would like to have some clearity on this matter. What do people consider Pedja as a player(potential and current status included). Some difinitions below

Star player(between Allstar and superstar)Eg: 1 st option
Specailised player(between starter and Allstar) can make the allstar game but majority of time is not selected

If he's not going to work on an offensive post game this offseason, he's maxed out from a potential standpoint as far as I'm concerned. And, he's got a great track record of not really showing up for the playoffs. He'd be a great third option for the Kings, and the Kings already have a solid second option in Bibby. Problem is the Kings traded away their first option (albeit probably at the right time). It will be interesting to see if GP can work his magic and get another first option in a Kings' uniform for next season without giving up Peja or Bibby.

Edit: I'll vote him a "star" under the assumption that it's below an All Star. Otherwise, I'd need to change my vote.

I do not think a allstar is a third optoin on offense given his skill set. Either option 2 or 1. It will be an interesting off season for sure. Lets see what direction the Kings will take. If you think Petrie would settle for Pedja being only an 3 option on the team. He will get traded in a second.

*Specialized player that can make the allstar team.

His specialty is to make shots and stretch the oppositons defense out to the perimeter. Notthing wrong with being a specialized player, Ben Wallace is one on denfense.

So a Super Star is a player that can be built around. A Star is a player that can be counted on as the first team option on offense couldn't an allstar or super star be that as well?

He's an all-star, he's outplaying another all-star on the other team. When was the last time someone actually outplayed him ?

It's nothing to brag about outplaying Lewis in this series, imho. It'd be one thing if Lewis was throwing up his normal (in my opinion, un-allstar worthy) numbers, but Lewis is the one guy on the Sonics potentially struggling worse than Peja is struggling for the Kings.

This one is a tough one for me. I have been a Paja fan since he joined the team as a bench warmer his first year and would love to choose one of the top three choices. I have tried to rationalize any perceived shortcomings, but this year something was missing. He did not appear to like waht he was doing. The few times I saw him smile was when we played the Lakers and Vlade was there. In the game Friday night, Bibby took a charge on the baseline. Peja was standing right by him and Miller was in the middle of the court. Peja turned and walked the other way. Miller rushed over to help him up. No big deal, I know. Mike could get up all by himself, but the TEAM attitude was missing from Peja. I over analyze things, but I can't seem to get over the fact that the Kings' greatest seasons were produced with TEAM effort and togetherness. While we have NO IDEA what goes on in the locker room and off court, it appears that he has lost the "love." Based SOLELY on this season, I would have to vote between an allstar and average starter, but that is not an option! I hope that I am wrong and he comes back next year with a vengence! I will GLADLY eat crow!!

He's an allstar specialized player. What he does well, he does better then most. What he doesn't do well - eh.... long story. :)

As someone mentioned, there are other players that are specialists who can attain all star level. Opportunistic all stars perhaps.

Lucky for you, we have a chef in training in our dear Evenstar. If it becomes necessary, I'm quite sure she'll be able to whip up a delectible dish...

Wait, is a Star considered a better player than an All-Star AleksandarN?
I guess so

When I think star I think someone like Bibby who hasn't made the All Star team

star: Mike Bibby
allstar: Baron Davis
superstar: Jason Kidd

But in this case I think star should be considered as 1st option on offense

That's not saying much. Lewis played a total of 11 games in the playoff against Peja's 55 game.

Oh, boy. Just a cursory look at the vote and noone has voted Pedja for Superstar or a Sub or an average starter (sorry EvilMav, you don't count :)).

So, do you all mean to tell me that all this threads we've had about Pedja all this time was just an excercise in hair-splitting? ;)

Yeah, but Lewis is considered a star for sure, and he is also an All-star this year. Normally, he's the 2nd best player on the Sonics, although not in the series vs. Sacramento.

I find it's much easier to appreciate Peja and what he does for this team if you don't hold him to unrealistic "Superstar" expectations. That whole "comparisons to Larry Bird" thing last season was probably the worst thing to happen to Peja's career.

When I say Star is a player who is not a superstar but is some one who falls short of one. I voted for Star because I do believe PEdja has the potentionail to be one. Now wheather he does or not is up to him. He has himself to blame whether it is not working on his game physically or mentally. He has the potential. I am holding him accountible for it. What his role on this team will determine wheather or not he has fulfilled the Kings organization expectations. Like I said before this post and next season is his test.
