Bulls have put multiple players including Butler on the trading block?

"We've been trying to be competitive for the last 5 years, but we need to think about the long term and whether we are championship material.", says Gar Forman, Bulls GM. "The Bulls have a high standard, and that's to win championships. We are reevaluating our team and considering all the options presented to us during the draft, including trades.

"We will take calls for any player, but we aren't going to take a deal just to take a deal. We feel like we have some young pieces to build around."

"We have a good head coach in Fred Hoiberg, but we feel like we need to give him the roster to succeed. At Iowa State, they played an uptempo system built around shooters. We will talk to Fred about possible trade options that will give him the roster he needs to implement his system to the best he can".

NOTE: I put this into a thread that makes it clear it's about the mock draft, primarily because when I initially saw it I thought it was real and moved it to the NBA Comments thread. :p

I'm still accepting offers. I'm currently in negotiations with multiple teams. I'm looking for a controllable star and future pick(s).

Reports from Phoenix emerged today that the Suns may be dangling Eric Bledsoe for additional draft assets, possibly looking to move up to improve their draft position. The Suns, who had the second-worst record in the league, fell to fourth following Tuesday's lottery. Suns GM Ryan McDonough denied the reports.

"We're quite content picking at four," McDonough said. "There are several very good players at the top of this draft that we think could join our strong core moving forward for the future."

@macadocious, please PM me. The site is giving me serious problems posting or clicking on your name, but I'm interested in discussing a trade.

Magic are looking to acquire another top 10 pick. Absolutely everyone is up for grabs for the right deal. That includes Vucevic/Gordon/Fournier/Peyton etc.. Not willing to trade #6.

I will just make my offer from the Timberwolves public. I propose our First Round pick and Ricky Rubio for the Celtics First Round pick. Rubio is signed thru 2018/2019 on a reasonable salary. He can defend most SG's at 6"4" so he could play with IT. Our 7th pick should allow you to grab a solid Wing, PG or Big.

A source in Minnesota reports Ricky Rubio is being offered along with the 7th pick for the Celtics #1 pick.

Question: If we are making trades, they have to pass NBA Trade Machine correct?

    Yes.

Thats not going to work, most trades won't pass the trade machine right now.

Why not? Draft day trades will still have to come in under the salary rules for 2016-2017 team caps. If it doesn't pass muster in real life...

Unless for some reason the trade machine refuses trades because teams are still in the playoffs. But there are only four of those.

How does that work, the season is over, the trades should be based on 2017/18 salaries.

A source in Boston is still laughing so we can't get a quote from him.

Yeah, ESPN's trade machine doesn't accurately capture potential draft day deals right now. For example, it allows a trade of Jonas Jerebko and the #1 for Alex Len. ;) Because Jerebko and Len are soon-to-be FA's though, they technically cannot be traded on draft day.

Edit: Real gm's trade checker may be a better proxy; it appears to prevent trading expiring contracts

The season technically doesn't end until June 30th. 2017-2018 cap applies starting July 1st. It has always worked this way. Occasionally you will see teams agreeing to a trade on draft night but not consummating it until the beginning of July when the cap situation works. I think that sort of trade should ALSO be allowed.

Just make any trade work, either for 2016 cap or 2017 cap. Just be sure that if you trade a guy with a team option that must be executed before June 30th (e.g. Afflalo) that you use 2016 cap. Also, no trades of players with expiring contracts or player options in 2017 (same as NBA rules).

I have a handful of offers that have not been acceptable, if I don't get an acceptable offer by 4:00 the Celtic will take Fultz. I'm putting this here now because I will be driving home shortly and may not be able to post by the deadline.

If you have final best offers, get them over now.

There's nothing to say you can't trade Fultz after you select him, BTW. The draft will run a while.

If the actual Kings did that, that would probably be the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I had to go make sure YOU weren't picking for the Kings .............................. whew!!!!

If Kings didn't want Chriss with the #8 selection in a draft that isn't considered as strong as this upcoming one, why would you toy with the idea that they'd be interested in trading #5 for Chriss now --- and a player like Knight that, at best, has half the value he had a few seasons back??

Furthermore, Chriss plays a position in which the team already has several good players (young and old) and isn't better than the talent they can get #5 this June.

I'd be okay with trading the 10th pick. We already are going to have trouble finding minutes for everyone. So unless we pick someone like French Frank I say just trade it for a solid vet. If you got too many young guys on a team it can hurt you in more ways than one. They need good competition to go against in practice, to learn from, and to look up to. I like Garret and Tolliver, but we need someone else to steady the ship.

Then again...what the hell do I know?! If I was running this team, we'd be an even bigger joke than we already are lol
