[Game] Kings @ Pelicans (Play-In Tournament) - 4/19 6:30PM PDT/9:30 PM EDT

Nawlins has beat us twice without CJ, once without BI, once without Zion and once with Zion only scoring 10 points. They have shot 40 percent from 3 in four of the five games and two of those games they shot over 50%. The Kings have out percentaged (from 3) the Pels in just one of the games. Solve that puzzle and you have a chance

visited the Pels reddit and almost feel bad for their mood there. If you thought it was dim Sunday here. hooboy.

They're staring down 49 wins and being on the outside looking in.

Feel bad for them but crap, pressure is really on for them not to be the best team (record wise) to miss the playoffs.

lol Hey Guys I’m back ……Pelicans beat the Kings twice without Zion this year and on January 7th without Zion by 33 points and went up by 50 points at one point in that game and that was with Monk and Huerter playing. The last game was without Ingram also. I believe we take this one. Throw Herb Jones and Dyson on Fox and Murphy III on Murray and they will fold. Kings will be forced to double team Jonas on Sabonis and that will leave open shots. I’m bummed about Z not playing, but also excited to we get to see the guy we call the knife “Naji “ back and hopefully our rookie that we call Hawk Eye aka Jordan Hawkins. He may be the best shooter on the team with Trey Murphy.

Fully prepared for a let down after a huge win against the Warriors. Kings usually lose after a big win because that's just how the season has gone. Even without Zion the Kings just can't beat the Pelicans.

You sound pretty sure of yourself. Maybe you should go place a large wager on your Pels. They are underdogs by 1.5 currently.

@CaliPelsFan2k23, there's still time for you to book a quick flight to Vegas, grab an Uber, go to a sportsbook, put down a bet, and fly back to your place of residence.

Just sayin'...:p:p:p

Seeing as we gifted them a whole bunch of those wins it would only be right for us to get a rebate and knock them out.

This is awesome... I hope you and everyone else (except Andrew Lopez of course) pick the Pels to win just like they did with the Warriors.

Our starters all played 34-39 minutes last night. Thank goodness they have two days off in between games. Mike Brown shortened the rotation to eight men, with Lyles and Mitchell logging 19 and 17 minutes, respectively. Len played only 9.

I wonder if McGee might be helpful against Jonas Valančiūnas on Friday?

Zion being out is big. Ingram isn’t fresh either.

Kings issues with the Pelicans are largely the Pelicans ability to matchup and disrupt the Kings offense so it’s still a tough matchup but it’s about time the Kings win one.

You just forced Steph into a sub par game. It’s not because Steph just had a meh game. The Kings did that. So I don’t want to see any CJ nonsense on Friday.

If Sabonis is off to a bad start, then we NEED to see more Alex Len. He can be a great asset for us, especially in a very physical matchup with the Pels

I guarantee you that nobody here has forgotten the gory details of how our Kings managed to lose to the Pelicans 5 times already this season. I can't imagine doubling Valanciunas in the post will be the defensive gameplan though. Defending the 3pt line has been a huge problem all year but our guys found a solution against GS last night and we can only hope they're able to carry some of the momentum of that win into the next one. Regardless, it should be an exciting game. May the best team win!

Whatever the Kings % was -- add 10 percentage points, and in business.

From what we seen recently those 8 guys will finish the season if they are healthy of course ...
Plus we hope we will be still in active when Monk returns ...
The resto the the boys are there to keep up the practice games , MB does not count really on them for the games

I think is all about time the Pels to have one poor 3pt shooting games against us as well ...
So far in the season it seems they can score from every single point ...
In the first two games when Collum was missing was Ingram , last few is Collum , the last one this Murphy as well ... If they don't have a day from the 3 or we just find a way to not leave Ingram , Murohy and Collum shoot freely , i thing we will manage to finally win it ...
The other issue so far in the season is that actually Jonas is taking good care of Sabonis ... I think they know each other pretty well and their big guy knows how to ''go under the skin'' of ours ...
But ... Do or die match ... LETS GO KINGS , beat them finally !

Brown can do some off the wall weird stuff with random player insertion, but if he pulls Javale McGee out of moth balls for meaningful playing time in this game, it will surpass everything else

THIS. Enough has to be enough at some point

Pelicans had been our boss because they could stop our offense and get anything they want against our defense. I think we partly solved the getting our offense going last time but could not stop their offense. Without Zion, who was a walking bucket every time he got into the paint, the Pelicans have become more of a drive-and-kick team. The Kings are better equipped to stop that. Keep BI on single coverage and stop the perimeter shots.

The Pels don't have a real point guard and the Kings have excellent defenders at the guard position. So why shouldn't the Kings be able to take advantage of that?

Fox didn't force it at all last night and it was so beautiful to watch. That kind of discipline and decisiveness from the entire team is what we will need against the Pelicans for sure.
He used his speed against GS and had several *FAST* trips to the basket for easy 2s, usually after a GS make. That's the Fox I want to see. He was excellent on defense as well. On one play he and Ellis double-teamed Curry who did the standard bounce pass to Green for what should have been an easy basket. Unfortunately for GS Fox was sooo fast that he literally caught up with the bounce pass and slapped the ball away from Green as he just received it. It was an amazing play.
