On one possession Capella was trying to post up Kofous who is a solid post up defender. One of our guards decided Kofous needed help with Capella's Olajuwon type moves and moved in to double team him. Capella just kicked the ball out to the wide open wing player and they splashed down what was practically a free throw of a 3. Back in the Chuck Hayes days that used to bug the hell out of me because he was about the best post defender we ever had. Yet when someone would try and post him up, we would run all our guards in at the player and they'd just kick it out for a wide open shot...
This is very frustrating, indeed. Especially since we might have the only center in the entire league who consistently commands a double-team on the block. We shouldn't be double-teaming any other team's center, especially not the Rockets. Hell, we should be daring them to try and let Clint Capela beat us.

Casspi has a 20% turnover rate and 45% TS rate....yeesh, not exactly making a compelling case to be promoted to starter.
When he handles the ball he reminds me of Ginobili, except with 5% of the talent.

I don't mind him spot shooting, anything else is too chaotic or unskilled.

Can only work with what you got. Casspi brings energy rebounding and 3pt shooting....downside is his turnovers obviously...how many of these games we loose because of the energy compared to turnovers? its a big concern and casspi is useful for this....his and temples foot being 100% on the accelerater gets their teammates going.

You can't be serious.
Judging advanced stats for his tiny amount of minutes this season is ridiculous, and unless you have a reason to think a 28 year old all of the sudden forgot how to play it's just plain foolish to look at it without mentioning his past production.

Last year his TS was a very good 58.7%, the year before that it was 58% (in both years it was the 7th highest percentage for a SF in the league).
Last year his TO rate was 10.3 and the year before that 12.6- that's not a great result, but it's extremely far from the numbers this year- and very similar to Matt Barnes in that respect (11.7 and 10 in the last 2 years).

It's like some posters here decided he is no longer a 3pt shooter because of a great sample of 9 shoots... which clearly negates that he shoot over 40% from 3 the last 2 years. Omri has his flaws and does too many boneheaded plays but judging things like that is just stupid.

Right now Nik Stauskas has the 12th highest TS% in the league at 65.8%- just ahead of Steph Curry.
And Serge Ibaka shoots 46.7% from 3 and is ahead of Kyle Korver (with Marco leading the entire league) while being ranked 342th in the league by RPM.

He'd benefit from more consistent playing time as would any player, but right now Jorger has lost confidence in Casspi, and it goes back to his sloppy play in the pre-season, and as far as we know being outplayed in practice. Obviously Casspi is a better player than he's shown, but he has tendencies over the course of his career that have prevented him from elevating himself to legitimate starter, including high turnover rate and low percentage flings and flip shots. Omri can be a brilliant three point shooter and great leg speed in transition and he can be a feisty defender so if he can get back to showing more of the good and less of the bad, he can work himself back into the rotation.

Omri was great in the fast pace system of Karl and that is not the tempo at which we are playing so his strengths have not been as readily exploited.

The bottom line is that among Ben, Barnes, Willie and Omri, none of them have made this definitive statement to distinguish themselves. I think Joerger is sort of waiting for someone to lay claim and set themselves apart but so far it is been a lot of "meh" and mediocrity.

at least the Kings can be part of some more history, you are welcome Houston. Another slow start? hmm...how many more are we gonna have? I don't understand the random insertion of Lawson in the starting unit, looks like we will have multiple starting line ups all season long. Thanks to that, the team won't mesh and in return we get more slow starts. I'd also like to add, it took way too long for Temple to get inserted in the game when it was crystal clear that Houston was gonna go on a chucking fest.

Be realistic, the team has a dearth of talent - doesn't matter who they start consistently. They look to be a bottom 10 team this year - likely worse than last year. Lawson looked better than Collison last night and has shown flashes of great play. It is not enough, but someone needs to step up consistently in the backcourt.

I'm definitely not arguing with you on the talent part. The team at this rate will be bottom ten and spinning its wheels unless the front office decides its time to commit to a full rebuild. However, I'd still like to see some consistency in the starting unit and Joerger probably has another 7-10 games in him before he commits to a steady starting unit & rotation. Ben is still playing in small spurts, Casspi played only due to the fact that the Kings were asked by his agent to showcase him before they trade him IMO and Willie has been converted to a towel waver, rightfully so.

The Rockets throw up as many threes as any team around the League. Any night they make 21/50 we are probably not going to beat them. The Kings play some of the worst perimeter defense of any team in the League. in fact setting a record last season for the most threes given up in history. It is a matchup that greatly favors the Rockets. The Kings inside defense and transitions have improved. Give the Rockets some credit, but lackadaisical rebounding made the situation even worse.
