The Kings will not match the four-year, $44 million offer sheet that Tyreke Evans has agreed to sign with the New Orleans Pelicans. According to sources close to the situation, the new Kings management group instead is hoping to close Thursday on a sign-and-trade agreement involving Pelicans point guard Greivis Vasquez and backup center Robin Lopez.

I am so mad, what the hell???!? What are they thinking......................... What kind of a vision is "give up a potential all star for a worse PG and average, at best, big men"! Makes no sense.

Iggy then Reke.....

This is a damn good trade....We need a facilitator on offense and Greivis Vasquez is a LEGIT PG....plus some quality depth up front with Robin Lopez. Great move IMO considering we woulda just lost Reke outright.

good move if it happens, Vasquez is a high basketball IQ player that will find Cousins, McLemore, Thornton, Jimmer in their spots. Good pick and roll player as well. Lopez gives us another 7 footer that will defend the paint and can play with Cousins if we want to go big.

Wow. A fast track to mediocrity.

Some fans on here were anti-Reke due to an over-reliance on certain advance metrics. Some due to antiquated views on PG'. Pretty sure you just don't understand basketball.

Great role player guys. Now we need to trade at least 2 of the following 3: Jimmer, Thornton, Salmons for a decent starting SF. We are getting there guys. We are getting there.

i guess they are going to really build around cus lol...just to be clear i hate this this move bt....grevis vasquez + isaiah thomas = the perfect point guard- ala mike and bobby.

Vasquez allows us to search for a good SF without the caveat of him having to be a facilitator.

PG:Vasquez/IT/McCallum
SG:McLemore/Thornton (or vice versa to start season)/Jimmer
SF:?/Salmons/Outlaw
PF:patterson/JT
C:Cousins/Lopez/Hayes

No but he does need to be a good scorer, penetrator and defender since our backcourt now lacks those. We currently do not have a backcourt player capable of scoring one on one or of defending.

Why when we can build our team full of mid level talent on mid level salaries. That's what all the smart rebuilding franchises have done. Oh wait, no they haven't. It's what the stupid ones do.
Don't flip out guys. If true, this made us a better team. We have a center that is super efficient and can block shots. His rebounding averages aren't the greatest but when he was given the minutes he produced, but even if he is a poor rebounder, that's why we have Big Cuz. Also we've been wanting a PG like Vasquez for years.

To few mins to split between 4 players who all deserve to play plus we need a SF and we can package one of our PF's for it
Four players to split between the 4 and 5 is not impossible or a problem. Naturally, one of them would see less minutes than the rest (most likely Lopez) but spot minutes, even 8 to 10 a game would be a possibility. Again most healthy teams have 9 to 10 man rotations and good coaches know how to balance their talent and PT.

However, your idea about trading one of them for a SF is good. Package one of them with MT and Jimmer and I'd be set.

This team will be much less Iso dependent, there will be player movement and ball movement. Also a Cousins/Vasquez pick and roll combination looks awesome.

It's going to be fun to watch you and the rest of the anti-Reke crowd trying to justifying why we still suck with a pure pg come mid season.
