Lots of reports saying they will stay! Can we start celebrating yet?
Not until it's "official," at least for me. With all the twists and turns so far, I am not getting too excited or too "low" until I hear it from MSE directly. And I won't be really excited until March 1 rolls around and the team announces it is staying for good with a new arena in the works.

Edit: Spike was less verbose and beat me to the punch. ;)

It's starting to look like they won't challenge the NBA. First smart move they made. It's going to be necessary for an entire city to forget all the drama and move forward with our reluctant owners who defnitely feel like they're being held hostage. Prepare to hold your noses as more lies start coming our way. And yes this is what winning feels like for now.

KJ and ICON, you're about to go to bat again.

It's official. The Kings are staying.

After weeks of political drama and speculation, team officials said this morning they are dropping plans to move to Anaheim this year, co-owner George Maloof told The Bee.

"We are heading back to Sacramento. It was a tough decision. Ticket holders were reaching out to us, and it was the right thing to do to give it a shot at one more season," Maloof said.

If our city can't get something done by March then we deserve to lose the team. I won't be mad at the Magoofs if they leave after that.

Just got off phone with Gavin Maloof. Bullet items: Burkle should mind his own biz,not in danger of selling, arena issue must be resolved..

or this will happen next year, they were given an apology by Lakers coach Phil Jackson for his comments.

Gavin also wanted to make sure it was known that he called Kevin Johnson before talking to the media.

They are doing this because it's "the right thing to do" or because "ticket holders were reaching out" to them? Please. Maloofs, to think that we would believe such a thing is just one more indication of how stupid you are...

Exactly. I knew they'd release such a statement though. They would never tell the truth, which is that they're pissed off and are only staying because they were forced to.

Gavin is smart and made sure KJ can't complain about finding out online instead of the Maloofs again.
