Pargo will either win or lose this game on his own. He's completely out of control, but he just forced 5th foul on Duncan, made 3 pointer and got to the line.

Nobody else on Hornets is doing much of anything on offense.

Well they found their hero...Jannero Pargo.

And with that said, he missed the wide open corner three to tie that would have given them the real shot. He chokes, Parker hits, and that is likely going to be enough. Course when you get down to the point where you are having tro rely on Jannero Peargo to carry you home ion a Game 7, that's kind of an inevitable result.

can someone please explain to me why pargo shooting at every shot and chris paul not running the offense? Is this Byron Scott's call? I don't get this!!!

It's not Peja's fault. The whole team played tight, as several people documented here. It would have nice if the guy could have contributed, oh I don't know, 1 point in the second half. But the loss is on the team, not on one guy.

i know. he was my favorite player when he was on the kings. i expect alot more out of a 3pt champ.

I don't know really -- Byron has an unhealthy fascination with Pargo, who has some scoring ability, but is just a blown up scrub. But in this one he was literally the only guy doing anything for the Hornets, and at some point either he or Byron just said screw it, I am taking evry shingle shot. I don't think he made one smart play in the entire 4th quarter, whther it was a make or a miss, but since he was virtually the only one making ANY plays, they rode him up, and then rode him right back down.

unless the celtics are in hte finals i don't plan on watching it. i can't stand the pistons or the spurs. the lakers are good but i can't stand the "lakers"

The playoffs up to this poit have been a giant letdown to me. Im glad the Spurs won cause right now I am pumped for a Lakers/Spurs WCF. I think this one is going to be a better series than Pistons/Celtics.

Well, the team I was rooting for won, so I'm good.

I'm glad that they faced heartbreak; now I can root for them next year without feeling conflicted.

That was just nuts. I ca't believe Jannero Pargo was the only one taking shots down the stretch. I think Pargo took all but four or six shots in the fourth quarter. No David West to speak of. No Chris Paul. No Peja. MoPete stuck to the bench with Bonzi. No pick and roll. Just Pargo, one on one. Doing dumb thing after dumb thing, some of them working, which only served to spur him on further to do another dumb thing the next time down.

You have to place this loss on two people: Byron Scott and Chris Paul. If I'm Chris Paul, Pargo isn't taking all those shots and dominating the ball. If I'm Byron Scott, Pargo isn't on the floor. I know he had something like 16 points in the fourth quarter, but he lost them the game.

In Game 7 at home against the defending champs, you don't ride Pargo till the wheels fall off.

The game was lost well before the 4th quarter. Hornets couldn't do a thing to get out of the slump. Pargo was out of control but at least he gave them some sort of chance. Everyone else looked scared ****less!

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wanna see L.A. rape this team. Absolutely hate the Spurs.

But what a terrible performance by NO...unbelievably bad. How can West play like absolute garbage ? Paul wasn't his usual self, and Peja was invisible. I'm not sure what happened, but that was not the Hornets. Shame really, would have been refreshing to see those damn Spurs out for once.

Byron Scott: "You don't go from not making the playoffs to winning the championship in one year"

Music to your ears, Slim?

Also, what does that mean for Boston?

I'll be rooting for Spurs over Lakers, of course. Turns out, Slim was absolutely right earlier in the thread - Spurs have the best chance of stopping LAL and Hornets will just have to learn their lesson.

On a side note, I really enjoyed C-Webb chewing out Berkley when he dared to suggest that this LAL team is better then Kobe-Shaq team. Really stopped Chuckster in his tracks then have him back-track all the way. Sweet.

I was thinking the same thing, and then I remembered that Lakers have Gasol so I'll still be rooting for the Spurs in that round.
I just might end up rooting for the Celtics in the end... ugh.
