My gawd, why the dislike? Warriors are fun to watch and not too much attitude. Durant signing up was a bit shallow and annoying, but I support the Norcal brethren. Up 3-1 last year and losing....with many blowouts either way....series again is very difficult to predict although likely another 7 games. Irving could drop 60 on the Warriors on any given game.

Yes the Warriors won with energy and defense. Turnovers were key statistic. Cavs were sloppy and lethargic. Should've been a better game.

Am I the only ones who is bored?. It's Cleveland, GS, and everyone else. And the everyone else, spurs, Boston, Toronto, they are far behind the cavs and warriors. The competitive imbalance is huge.
For me, watching one team play beautiful basketball (other people's words) is not enough. I want to see some rivalries. Even last year was better than this because the thunder and warriors did not like each other. Then Durant leaves and joins the enemy. Well, that potential rivalry is dead. I don't see a rivalry between the cavs and warriors because the warriors are so much better than them.

Sorry but the whole thing just seems boring.......

There's still a lot of basketball to be played and last year proved that it's not over til it's over. But this game showed that the warriors did need KD to beat lebron. Some say KD is riding the warriors coat tails to a championship but the way lebron is playing I don't know if last years warriors team could beat them this easily. If their shots aren't falling, now they have someone to just ISO and get them the bucket.
Well I hardly think anyone would seriously accuse Durant of not being a key contributor on the Warriors when he went there, and while he might not be riding coat tails to a championship I dare say he could easily ride em to the Finals. His job is a lot easier as well with Curry and Klay on the floor vs when he was with OKC.

It is. They'll never be significant parity in the
league due to it being the most contingent on star players each year. In the NFL maybe a middle of the road team adds a couple low key free agents to say their defense and all of a sudden they're in it. MLB maybe all their pitchers are having good seasons. NBA..you know who's going to be the elite and why..and the only question being is if they can stay healthy all the way. Surprise teams are always bad to middle of the pack(Utah). There is rarely surprise contenders.

At the highest parity in the NBA there is maybe 2-3 teams in each conference that have a chance to make the finals...but about 3 that can win it all. Right now it's just 2. The east in particular has been a joke and a waste of time for ages. The west was really exciting before the Warriors separated themselves...but even until this year San Antonio, OKC, and Clippers were considered legitimate threats. Even Memphis a couple of years ago was pretty legit and mightve had a shot if they weren't too injured by the time they played GS. They really never recaptured their edge after that season though and never improved their roster

Evidently not, but I'm entertained.
I think its a fairly exciting rivalry - they've split the last 2 championships, and I don't think the Warriors are so much better even with Durant. I think you're gonna see the Cavs adjust and take it to the Warriors who can suffer from lapses of poor team defense periodically. I do mildly hope the Warriors win. I've never been a James fan, although you could make a case he's still the best athlete in the NBA and the best all-around player although for probably not too much longer....age and injury will creep in as it always does Didn't the Kings beat the Cavs and James in his debut game? No one cared a-lick about the game if I remember, just watching James, who's passing abilities were front and center.

I can't say I'm bored after one game. I still think this will make for a fun series, Cleveland will make adjustments in Game 2 and we will see how it plays out. That said, if you aren't a Warriors or Cavaliers fan right now, it's really hard watching the NBA IMO. The best part is watching the young Kings and hoping one of them develops into a star player. There is only one rivalry in the NBA and we are watching it, so the NBA does need more rivalries. I'm just glad I'm invested in other sports because the current era we are in is very frustrating to watch.

I can't wait until I start the 2018 Finals thread, so that I can find out who's going to designate themselves as the annual "WHY U NO LIEK WARRIORZ?" guy. Like, how many times does that question have to be answered?
I don't know which is worse. The assumption that there will be that guy OR that the Warriors will be in the finals again.

How depressing.

Their money's going to run out eventually. Steph Curry's not going to take an "Injury History" discount contract this time around and Klay's also gonna require a raise.

I was very disappointed in the Cavs play. They weren't close to being mentally prepared for the first game of the series. Not close. Waaaay to many mistakes.

Holy long layoff between games batman. They are really trying to make everyone forget about NBA basketball aren't they.
I think it's simply the NBA trying to drag it out as close to the NBA draft as possible, leaving people with their NBA fix then and July 1st the free agency frenzy starts

Lesean McCoy, Buffalo Bills running back, has placed a $200,000 bet on the Warriors winning. If they do, it pays out a total sum of $262,500. I suppose betting on the Warriors is a safe thing after what we witnessed in game one, but hopefully the Cavs can turn it around, though if they squash the Warriors squash them again it's going to be a long way back even with Lebron.

Trying to outscore Dubs in their gym is never recipe for victory. Cavs D better show up second half or this could be over - game and series.

Missing from these finals is Barnes.. dude can't get a minute.. I wonder if there is more pride in trying to make the playoffs with your home team or riding coat tails for a ring
