Oh I am. Will be watching the Boogie & The Brow show debut tonight. When one door shuts...the Kings franchise stupidity was at least epic enough to gift the league with what could be a game changing team. Have the talent, the intrigue, the nickname, and the potential to perhaps break the smallball stranglehold on the league. There's legendary team potential. That's fun.
Yeah but do they have character?

I don't think that quite qualifies for the No True Scotsman fallacy. If the original poster had insisted they remained a Kings fan despite the trade, and the respondent had said that they could not be a true Kings fan if they didn't agree with the trade, that would fit. What we've got here is something more like the original poster proclaiming that they are no longer a Scotsman but instead a Dane and the respondent asking if that's true why they're still hanging out at the pub.

Look, he could have said any other team but the Lakers. I thought beyond anything else, a Sacramento Kings fan hates the Lakers. Once you cross that line in my eyes you have to turn in your fan card. Go ahead root for Boogie on the Pels, that's every fans' right to boycott for now and support your favorite player. I understand that I just don't understand the levels some are taking this to, is all.

Well, in interest of getting the Pelicans pick in the lottery, Nuggets wins all of a sudden became pretty important.
Is it really THAT important? The implication I'm getting here is that it would be great if the Nuggets made the 8th seed meaning the Pelicans pick fell in lottery to which it would give us a couple more percentage points to actually "win" the lottery. But considering it's top 3 protected, it doesn't really matter.

Granted the lower they finish, the better for us, so perhaps that's what you were insinuating to begin with.

That's awful. I don't know you well enough to sense sarcasm with that but as a TRUE Kings fan I think that statement means you have to turn in your Kings fan card permanently. Definitely a lopsided trade but this kinda stuff from fans is overboard. If you are so done with the Kings emotionally why even continue to read or post here about the Kings? You obviously are still invested.
Do you know what the word tempted means?

At least the Lakers have decent leadership in Jeannie Buss. The Kings are an absolute trash organization. I am finished making excuses and defending them.

Yeah I'm probably still invested. But I want to see the organization fail over and over now, until Vivek is gone.

I love my city. I love the people who work for the Kings I cherish my memories. But I have realized through this that the memories are about the people you share them with, not allegiance to a brand. I am a fan of people and a city more than the word "Kings". And, in my thinking, because I have self respect, I will no longer spend money or root for a brand run by this leadership to do well.

If anything I'm probably a Pelicans fan now.

I'll wait for the MLS to come to Sac. Until then, there's baseball.

This trade, along with the Malone firing, is not incompetence, in my view. It is a deep betrayal of the trust the fans place in the organization. I no longer think the governing forces of the Kings are acting in good faith. Most people, if they saw things things that way, would react how I'm reacting.

You are free to be a fan or not be a fan however you want. But spare me the lecture.

In any case, maybe I will root for the Lakers. But only when they play the Kings. I'm not claiming the moral high ground here. I will be honest and say I would delight in seeing this organization embarrassed. I will root for Boogie everytime he plays the Kings too. I hope that makes you mad. And if it does, I'd root right in your face.

I think the Kings win tonight, lots of adrenaline and energy will help us win or least make it really close. Reality will set in after the next two games or so.

I'm totally on board with this train of thought. Still want us to beat the Lakers.

But Boogie can hang 75 on us, and I'll be going nuts.

When I forget about the terrible decisions made by the Kings FO recently I look at the team as a large developmental project full of young potential. With all the rooks and other young-uns I have hope that a couple of them will develop into above average NBA players and provide us with something positive. Then of course I remember that what they develop into may not matter since this organization is not capable of keeping talent when it's here or at least getting value for talent when you don't like the personality attached to it. I may just watch because I hate myself enough to hope that there is some remote possibility that something good happens in Kingsland.

Let's go Kings! The trade is done, is what it is. I'm excited to see Buddy, Willie, collision, and whoever else is out there play well and give us some hope for the future.

No one's forcing you to stay. Feel free to go over to a Pelicans board. Maybe you can go pick on Motiejunas or something

So cute! They're getting snipey!!

Nothing more than internalized frustration because people keep giving their loyalty to an organization that craps on its fans over and over and over and over.

I was very public that I was giving them one final chance based on Vlade's integrity at minimum, and what I perceived to be competence. I would have settled for mere integrity.

The only way I come back is if Vivek goes. Until then I'll probably just crappost around here and give you occasional Pelican updates from potentially greatest front court in the history of the Universe.

My unsolicited advice to remaining Kingsfans: lower your expectations dramatically. Develop a sense of black humor. These will be your survival skills.

Haha kingsfans.com, where being a kings fan means putting up with people bashing the Kings and saying they want to support other teams.

Hey mods, rmb how you used to treat Jimmer fans, fans of other teams (Utah, Boston, Phx most recently) when they came on here just to talk bad about the Kings? Why should these "fans" who clearly aren't even Kings fans anymore be treated any different?

there should be a site called formerkingsfans.com. No need to turn this board for Kings fans into a cryfest. Nothing is going to change. Demarcus is gone. Loyalty is still love. Go Kings!!!

Buddy, I have so much cred around here, it's going to take a bit more than comparing me to a Jimmer fan to get me banned.

GO PELICANS

Ownership has ZERO loyalty to you. They are using you. They are not fulfilling their end of the bargain.

Staying a fan is not loyalty. Leaving is not disloyalty. You can stay if you want.

I actually think the Boogie/AD pairing may not come off as good as it does on paper. Two alpha guys, who may not work well together in system
Worked ok on TEAM USA.

I think you are going to see Boogie morph yet again for the sake of winning.

He's a different player wherever he goes, based on what is needed. Kentucky, USA, Kings...

He's not a type of player the league has seen before. They will figure it out. Boogie is going to become one of the best passing big men in history. He'll creep up toward 40% on threes. Defensively, it's off the charts. Both players are mature now. Rmember: both came from coach Calipari.

That will depend entirely on the coach. I am not convinced that Gentry is the right coach for that team. That team should be playing half court offense concentrating on pounding the ball down low with Boogie and AD. Go to your strengths. If they continue to run and gun, I suspect the push for play offs will fall short. If they make the right moves in the off-season then things could be really interesting next season and the new trend might just be to have dominant twin towers.

Bleep ownership! They're not the one's out on the court. This is the game thread. I want the kids to go out there and do their best in spite of management. And I will root for them. But no, ownership won't get a dime from me other than what the league passes on from LP.

Remember the times when Boogie would have his headband knocked off and no foul gets called?! Now that pissed him off and got him into the Boogie Monster Mode!

I think this is the mode he is in now and god help the Kings when they play the Pelicans! Lord have mercy on their soul!

I never asked for or required loyalty from ownership. I chose to be a fan of the team. Fell in love with basketball as a kid because of early 2000s Kings. Memories of playoff games in an insane Arco arena and countless battles with the Mavs and Nick Van Exel. Crying tears when we lost to the Lakers in 2002. Ownership change, coaching change, roster changes...the team is still in Sacramento and they're what I have.

I completely understand and respect that.
