Take it for what it is worth - somebody named John Gambadoro is reporting:

The Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings have had discussions about a trade involving All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins according to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro.

Gambadoro reports the discussions have centered around involving small forward T.J. Warren, center Alex Len, Phoenix’s first-round pick this year and possibly more. The Suns own all of their future picks and also own two future Miami Heat first-round picks from the Goran Dragic deal.
The Miami Heat picks in question are a 2018 (protected 1-7, otherwise 2019 unprotected) and a 2021 unprotected.

even if the kings "have had discussions" with the suns regarding demarcus cousins, that could simply mean that the suns called to inquire about demarcus' availability, and vlade listened to the proposed offer. it doesn't mean that the kings are in any way serious about trading boogie. in all probability, vlade is just doing his diligence, if only to make it clear that nothing less than a godfather offer will be enough to pry demarcus away.

exactly. Otherwise, why come out and state to the media that they plan on signing him to an extension in the offseason? just like the Lakers and Celtics last season, it's the Suns media stirring something up and making it seem as if there is actually preliminary talks here when in truth, it's wishful thinking on their part.

Oh please.

Was this posted before or after the story on the Bigfoot sightings?

Here's the deal: teams will continue to call the Kings and offer various packages (in this case magically not even including their best players/prospects) in the hopes the Kings will panic and blink. At the same time, reporters will continue to make up stories with some foundation or no foundation right up through the trade deadline, because its an easy mark and they can hit their quotas while claiming a popular rumor that some subset will always buy into.

Meanwhile, its all nonsense, and we have a season to play. So shoo with this stuff.

Watched the Sixers broadcast yesterday and they said they talked to Vlade, who feels the team is close to where they need to be but may be one player away. (Which could start a whole other convo.)

But I mention it because I think this conversation went like:

"Hey Suns, we'll give you expirings for Bledsoe."
"No that's silly. We'll give you Len for Boogie."
"You sure you don't want another point guard instead?"
"is that a mean joke?"
"no, you're trade idea was *click"

"...but it needs to be said that these talks occurred prior to Christmas and Sacramento hasn't had any major discussions with any other teams since announcing they intend to re-sign him."
kind of an important bit of info that they leave at the end of the story. must be a slow news day when they bring up "talks" that occured over a month ago that went no where, especially when dmc already agreed to an extension the kings said they will give him.

Actually Gambadoro has a pretty good track record on these kind of things. But my bet is that the Suns called the Kings with the offer, and the Kings said no. So it's possible that both teams did have a conversation about a trade, but that it went nowhere. I can't imagine that trade without either Booker or Bledsoe being included along with Chriss. Ridiculous!

Odd how the Kings are always on the short end (very short) of these "rumored" trade talks.

If there was even the remotest possibility that Boogie could be had for such a pathetic package, LeBron James better get in Dan Gilbert's ear because they could offer something better than that and all but guarantee LeBron another title in the process.
