This kind of makes sense, I can see WCS taking over the starting spot soon, but when two of your first two games are against the Clippers Karl probably feels better having Koufos and Cuz vs Griffin and Jordan, rather than throwing Willie straight into the fire. Also the Clippers don't really have a good backup big so Willie should do well in his minutes. I think taking the home opener and beating the Lakers is HUGE for this team and Karl knows that.
