Strengths: all around offensive game
Weaknesses: quickness on defense, creativity as a passer

Offense (Scoring & Passing)
Solid offensive PG with a nice combination of driving ability and outside shooting. Fundamentally sound on the pick and roll. When driving will mix takes all the way to the rim with a deadly little pullup jumper. Not a break you down one on one sort of player, so most drives come off the pick and roll or through an open seam. Spin dribbles in the paint can be spectacular and free him from many defenders for his finishes. Has decent range all the way out to the three point line. Very streaky, not only game to game, but quarter to quarter. When on, can be the best player on the floor. When off, just disappears. Generally thinks like a PG, knows how to run an offense and how to set people up, yet assist totals remain low largely because of a lack of creativity. When on a cold streak can take you out of a game with unnecessary turnovers.

Defense & Rebounding
Not a great defender, with the major problem being quickness issues. Just can't stay in front of the darts, and has to play so far off of them that they can shoot over him at will despite his height. Shows good instincts at times, knows how to use angles to cut off quicker players, and this season his desire and intensity on defense have improved. Size lets him alter some shots inside as well as play some SG (where he is undersized of course), and is effective when diving back down into the paint to help on the glass. But does not do it consistently, and overall barely an average rebounder for a PG.

Intangibles
Has had an up and down career with the Kings. Was brought in midseason and responded impressively in 07-08. Got the big contract and came to camp out of shape for a miserable 08-09 season. But reemerged again last year as a valuable veteran leader both behind and next to Tyreke Evans. Runs the team when Evans is out of the game, and has responded well in late game situations, often earning the clutch minutes alongside Evans. In his final Kings season played the steadying veteran, and showed a willingness to step back out of the way of the Kings' young emerging stars.
