Ongoing saga of Luc Mbah a Moute (merged)

Where does mbop play though? Insurance forward? I guess he can guard most positions so it's chill. I liked him when he was here, shut down Chris Paul

We do have, ironically, too much depth. Ponder that for a second as a Kings fan. But every vet defender is a welcome addition.

The interesting thing, and slightly alarming thing, would only be if we aren't ready to start WCS at PF. If we are, then everybody else is just fine, many overqualified. Where we could get into a bit of awkardness is if we're not ready to start WCS yet. Then all our choices are either playing out of position or are not starting quality guys like Luc.

Luc is a joke... He's constantly injured and has no heart... He doesn't even wanna play minus he wants a pay check.

Are his knees sound now? I remember talks of him having bad knees when he was with us...then he got traded for Derrick Williams.

The guy probably got tired of mentoring or be compatriot guide to a player in Philly that does not even suit up for a game.

He actually played the most minutes and games(67) last season since 2010. So IMO, his health finally turned a good corner.
So I'd say he's a nice pick especially against team who will go small-ball.

I hope this isn't coming from Ham's podcast.

Got a bad knee. Still played in 67 games last year, mostly starting out of position for the Philly disaster. With all our pieces I doubt the load will be as heavy this time.

The funny thing is that Mbah a Moute was a guy I wanted for balance if the Kings signed a stretch four like say, Bargnani.
I think Luc basically IS the stretch 4. Where Philly was playing him last year, and I guess he got his 3pt% into barely weapon range.
If he signs we'll basically have 3 big SFs, Rudy, Omri and Luc, any of whom you could call a PF for a stretch. Would expect to see pairs of them out there together from time to time.

The ability to potentially put a

line-up on the floor to defend in crunch time is something that could definitely help in the W/L column. All the aforementioned players are/were plus defenders.

Does anyone else find it funny (in a sad crying-into-your-beer sort of way) that Vlade is essentially assembling the perfect roster for Mike Malone's schemes?

Really another savvy 'chess move' addition if this goes through. A versatile focused defender off the bench, who can guard PG's through stretch 4's...and anything in between. Didn't want him traded for Williams in the first place.

We'd have veteran specialists, in a marksman and a lock down defender. Marco and Moute. With Butler rounding out some versatility and toughness. Close the deal with Andre Miller

Unless you're trying to experiment with gimmicks, this is the kind of roster balance that guys who understand the NBA game will try to piece together. What's literally amazing, is how quickly Vlade has put this puzzle together. This is bordering on a heroic effort

The only source I know of for that bit of slander is Ham's podcast.

Edit: In fact, assuming this signing becomes official (haven't seen anything on that yet) I'd really, really, really like to see that minute or two of Ham's podcast become required listening in the Kings' locker room once during training camp. It would make his appearance at post-game pressers SO much more interesting.

What did he say? I never heard anything of it

Ah yes, it was Ham's podcast. I knew I'd heard that before about him just wanting a paycheck.
