Truly great man of wonderful accomplishments in Sacramento history. I saw him numerous times back during 1980s into 90s at Lyons on corner of Watt and Folsom (now closed), usually having lunch with various biz associates. Of course, his son Phil who took over family biz few years back is now minority Kings owner and big booster of new arena downtown redevelopment project. RIP Mr. Oates.
