First, I'm sorry for not starting the Hawks game thread. All things considered, it might have been an omen from the Great God Naismith. Okay, really it was nothing that dramatic. It was/is painful, however, as I have been suffering from the same ailment that has kept Vince Carter off the court. Not fun...

Maybe it's just me or the medications I've been taking for the aforementioned condition, but I'm not really stressed about our recent roadtrip. We knew this was gonna happen. We all said we could deal with it, especially those of us here (myself not included) who are drooling about another high draft pick. So, it's a situation where you have to be careful what you wish for. You can't have it both ways unfortunately.

I've never been a fan of "here and there" scheduling. The only good thing about the next two games is they aren't against the Nuggets, so at least we won't have the altitude working against us. Just about everything else looks bleak though... not much in the way of favorable matchups to look forward to.

This season is gonna be painful to watch except for those few brief moments when we see a glimpse of what I still believe is a bright future. I've still got my purple-tinted glasses at the ready for those times when the bright rays of the sun break through the clouds of doom.

And yes, kidney stones notwithstanding, it's STILL a good time to be a Kings fan.

GO KINGS!

Minus the kidney stones part, I share the same sentiments as you do when it comes to the Kings. We all knew, coming in, that this was gonna be painful to watch. I just want to see those moments of sunlight as well. So far, we actually have caught a slight glimpse of it.

But...

I want more.

We want more.

I deserve more.

We deserve more.

It's ALWAYS a good time to a Kings fan.

I hope you have a speedy recovery, VF21.

Too much empathy for Vince Carter? I hope you feel better soon.

I just want effort. Not watching the ball as others sprint up the court. Not looking for a chance to "save your body." EFFORT. If they can't hit the proverbial pea in the ocean, so be it. Just play like you give a damn.

As a Kings fan today posts on after game threads are much more painful than watching games. In fact I look forward to watching our games. Go Kings! Beat the Blazers!

Feel better VF21!

On to the next one. I actually expect our guys to come out fighting after pooping the bed in Atlanta.

Us coming out fighting doesn't mean I expect a win, but hopefully the team will remember that it can be competitive!

I'm OK with winning at home and losing on the road... at least that means it's not a talent problem, it's a mental one. That being said, I think the refs are a lot kinder this year at home than in recent years...

the Kings have competed on their home court so I expect the same again
Same here. Going to the game with my son and a friend of his and a friend of mine. Neither of the friends have been to the G1C yet so if things get out of hand I guess we can just give them the extended tour of the facility and ignore the on-court action. ;)

I'm 1-0 so far this season while going to the game, hoping to continue the streak.

This is the test time for our young ones - to pooped to pop, hang up your jersey and find another line of work, pull up your socks and give ‘em hell, continue on and just disappear. I forget the other choices. I guess I’m not surprised that such a large group of players with little or no NBA experience is having these kinds of problems. It may take the rest of the season to win two more n a row. It!’s tough on these guys but it’s the chance tha Vlade and Dave took. Hang n there, guys.

Blazers are much better defensively thus far this season over last and rebound at a very high clip . A competitive game would be a big win for us, considering.

I'm done. I'm seeing Justice League instead. Maybe they'll rebuild their goodwill in a few games (probably). But as of now I'm not watching if I have anything remotely better to do. Sorry guys, you already lost me.

Per twitter and Jason Jones....Jack Cooley is suiting up tonight. Coincidence with all the talk of being soft? I think not. Lets see if that motivates a certain guy or 2.
Also, how about the seven foot guy who's also hard-nosed and a bit of a hardass on the court?

PapaG and Cooley will also lose by 40, but they'll break some teeth along the way.

Just stick to watching the home games, that's only 41 games and that's not to say there won't be blowouts on their home court but so far that's yet to happen so might as well watch until otherwise :)

I mean if they want to throw in some feisty and nasty, might as well throw Papa out there and sure, he'll pick up cheap fouls fairly quickly but he will bang people around at least.

I'm glad to see Jack Coulee down from Reno. The way he will put up the kind of numbers he's been putting up in Reno, but for me it's the hustle. If I were part of the coaching staff every player would know that Cooley and Buddy set the pace for practice and hustle keep up or sit down.

Anyone know Vince's timetable to return? No idea how long kidney stones take to pass, but I miss his energy on the sidelines.
Kidney stones can pass fairly quickly OR they can require surgery or treatment with sonic waves (lithotripsy). One good thing is once they're gone (or moved to a spot where they aren't causing pain) the relief is immediate. I think they're just taking their time with him.
