I just came to post this.

We won that game damn it. The mavs were supposed to have 1.3 seconds left, but the clock went something like 1.3, 1.2, 2.2, 2.1, 2.0 and so on. The gave the mavs an extra second! They didn't get a shot off in 1.3 seconds. We should have won. We got screwed.
The officials put a second back on the clock but the display didn't register right away.

clock-gate is a non thing. due to the airball, the extra time was put back on the clock. the refs got us (two HUGE non-calls when Darren was being fouled), not the scorekeeper.

but you know what is pretty great... the team isn't bitching about the refs and isn't bitching about each other. the team is coming together. they really are. this was a big game - closest to a "good loss" that you can get.

Loss sucks but I can live with it. They pur forth this kind of effort every night, than we'll get thst 8th seed. How do teams get away with clobbering Demarcus Cousins every night though? Most of his 10 turnovers were do with being mugged and not getting a call. Reminds me of the philosophy the Seattle Seahawks defensive backs go by, hold and hold, they can't throw a flag every play.

Nah Zaza got at least 4 clean swipes for his steals. Cousins showed the ball too much a few times when he pivoted to face up

I have to salute ever Kings player that played tonight. This is a great example of as long as you're giving it your all, you can live with the results with your head held high.

Yes, the loss stings. But we fought through adversity as a team and didn't fold when we had every excuse to.

If there was ever a turning point for the better, this is it. It'll sting until tip off Thursday, but if we keep this effort up, we will make the playoffs.

Not enough heart? Bullpoopoo. What I saw tonight was pure heart, and hustle and effort. They will learn from tonight's loss ... and the rest of the NBA will pay the price.
Stop it.

We are a few games away from losing to the Sixers. No team is going to pay the price for anything.

I apologize if this has already been mentioned, but I don't have the stomach to wade through all the posts in this thread to double-check.

Before anyone gets upset with DC, it looks like the reason he missed the rim is he was fouled on the elbow.

Dave (Fireplug) posted a gif on Twitter that clearly shows DC was fouled, but I don't know how to copy it and post it here.
Video on youtube is real hard to tell, it looks close but then he raises up to shoot after the "possible" contact.

Look at Carlisle, I believe this was on the last play.

Like hey I'm just gonna stand two feet on the court.

Then the ref even moves him back.

Stop what? Being optimistic about the Kings? Not gonna happen.

I said TONIGHT'S game showed heart, and hustle and effort. I also said the Kings will learn from tonight's loss, not because it was a loss but because it showed they can compete even without all their players on the court and they can do so on the road. I also said the NBA will eventually pay the price because I believe in the Kings. If you don't agree, fine. But if you think I'm going to stop, you're simply being delusional.

The only things that the Kings could control like heart and hustle, they controlled. Everything else was up to luck or whatever you want to call it. There will be another game where we win in similar circumstances.

No doubt Zaza played great D on Cousins, but it wasn't only Zaza that slapped at Cousins and did not get called for it. Everytime he puts the ball on the floor somebody is reaching in. Sometimes it's a clean swipe at the ball but more often they wack him across the arms, hold him or push him amd the ref's swallow the whistle.
Now compare that to James Harden, where most coaches will tell their players NOT to reach, because it's called everytime.
It's almost like the NBA can't stand a big guy dribbling the ball. Cousins is forced to evolve more into a catch and finish type role when called like this, taking away his unique ability.

You don't have to tell me bout James Harden getting calls. He's one of my least favourite players in the league.

I know excactly how you feel. I hate to watch James Harden.
But it's not his fault. The NBA Ref's have no consistency at all. What's a foul when guarding James Harden is not a foul, when guarding Demarcus Cousins.
It shouldn't be like that. A foul is a foul, no matter if it's a 270lbs Center or a 180lbs guard, who is getting fouled.
Harden exploits this system. I don't blame him for this. I blame the system with it's stupid star calls and biased referees calling based more on the reputation of the player than on the actual incident on the floor.

Nice moving screen by Dirk on that last play. Will the NBA say the refs missed the call like they did in the Knicks game? Doubt it.
Absolutely they will. The way they do that now is pretty cool. The league is starting to be more transparent, at least in publicly grading the calls in the last 2 minutes of a game that is with 5 points or less.
