How I would distribute minutes:

To be fair, I think opposing announcers probably remember him as a defensive specialist from Kentucky. In theory, Willie should be a defensive anchor, but he's not(yet). His lack of rim protection is the thing that shocked everyone. I just want Willie to be able to find a niche and stick to it. He's one of our most unique players on the team. No clue what to expect from him next year.
I want Willie to be the great 2-way player that he envisions for himself. Why do so many Kingsfans want him to be less than that? I swear, it seems that so many around here just want him to be that one dimensional player that he was projected to be when he was drafted. Why does he have to fit into that niche?!
I say Free Willie! and let him become what his potential allows. Seriously.

Well said. I remember hearing that Michael Redd was a defender in college and then turned into a scorer in the pros. The same can be said for Jimmy Butler, and unlike Redd, he's still a good defender. I'm sure there are more players out there that I'm not mentioning that were labeled as specific skill players and turned into the opposite in the pros.

He's been usurped in the talent pool and for all of these guards to succeed they'll need a certain type of big in order for that to happen. I think it's more likely Willie can become a great fit for them than vice versa. Willie should get a chance to show his various talents but if it's a question of usage, his being more impact oriented rather than stat stuffing will most likely help the team more.

I want him to be solid defensively/boards as a center presence and then he can be whatever he going to be offensively (which I don't think he is yet personally). And at times I have worried that his comments about viewing himself offensively may be used to not exert himself to the full amount on the defensive side of the court. He is skilled, but I don't think it's translated yet to the actual rim protection/paint presence.

He's very underrated offensively though. He has a good looking jumper, can handle, run the floor, fill the lanes and do things from the high post that I think he can be a plus offensively.

First and foremost because we look to have so much offense already, and because center is a pivotal position for defense in today's NBA, I'd like to see him live up more to that reputation and what he was billed at coming out, a defensive anchor.

I'm interested to see what kind of year he has. I'd call it a make or break from the sense that we should really see what his trajectory will be

Willie reminds me of Amare Stoudemire (spelling?) with more upside on the defensive end. Offensively and rebounding wise is where the likness shows

Agree, he's been focusing more on offense rather than his defense. It's unlikely WCS will become two-way player, can't sustain that intense effort on both ends of the floor having a low stamina. He's gotta utilize his bread and butter, otherwise he might become an odd piece.
I'm not sure who is better suited at center WCS or KK with the new additions, but I prefer KK over him for now.

Low stamina? Please don't tell me you're one of those posters that is convinced Willie has sickle cell disease.

Huh, interesting.

He flat out says that Justin Jackson will be in the rotation. After giving it some more thought, I think he might start at SF Day 1 for us. I would've thought differently, but Carter came out and said he prefers a bench role and I'm remembering that Joerger likes using Temple off the bench regardless of the situation.

He also implies that Malachi is in the rotation and Bogdan is the odd man out. I find that surprising; I thought people expecting 30 min for Bogdanovic right off the bat were going to be surprised, but I thought he would be in the rotation at least. Not so sure now. Based on what he said, I think the perimeter either goes one of two ways.

PG: Hill-Fox
SG: Hield-Temple
SF: Jackson-Carter with Richardson stealing minutes here whenever Carter sits or when it's appropriate.

or

PG: Hill-Fox
SG: Hield-Richardson
SF: Jackson-Carter
Temple steals minutes at the 1 and 3. Might cut into Fox's minutes. The SF spot consists of a rookie and a 40 year old; you're probably not getting 48 min a night between those two.

“He’s a guy I haven’t had a chance to get my hands on at all and coach him. I’m going to stress to him to be patient. Things are going a hundred miles an hour for him. This is his dream too so he has every shot at being as good as he wants to be and I want to help him, but sometimes things are different as far as ‘just got here two days ago.’ He speaks pretty good English, which is good for him, but I need to learn his strengths. Can he play in pick and roll? Does he come off catch-and-shoots? Is he better guarding a bigger guy, or a smaller guy or a quicker guy. All of these things I have to learn about him too and a lot of the rest of our team, too.”

I didn't take it as Bogdan being the odd man out. I took it as Joerger not really knowing what he has yet until they get to camp. In his other quote he says that Malachi can be played at the SF position but he doesn't really have anyone at the SG spot who could slide over unless the match up calls for it.

What is sort of concerning to me about the above quote is that it seems like Joerger almost doesn't really know anything about him. I figured he would have watched hours of tape to get himself familiar with Bogdan's game. Hopefully it's just Joerger talking to just answer the question because it doesn't seem like good coaching to have to completely start from the ground up on a guy who has been playing overseas for years. This guy should be one of our best players out of the gate.

Joerger has his work cut out for him for sure. Vlade didn't make it very easy on him this year! :) That's a lot of bodies and a lot of young guys to work in.
