It's going to be a while before anyone declares Vlade's tenure as a GM a failure because of the love he gets in this city. But why couldn't we have dealt Rudy and thrown big deals at Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon during the offseason instead? or a number of any other moves. Anyone who watched Toliver and Afflalo last year could see that they were done. They can't even replicate Curry/Acy level production!

Even with his failures I think he needs to lead the rebuild though, failure is a part of this business and it happens to the best of them. Evalute Vlade in 3-5 years and go from there. Plus Joerger should get a chance to develop his own roster and we need stability more than anything. No more mismatched GM's and coaches. If we want to keep Joerger(which should be a no-brainer at this point) then Vlade must stay because that is his guy.
Ryan Anderson didn't want us. Neither did Courtney Lee. We had interest, even took a plane ride down to meet Anderson in Los Angeles, but in the state we've been its hard to get the guys you want.

No quality FAs want us.

The only way we're getting better is through the draft. Either by developing the players we want, or getting young talent to flip for vets.

But this franchise has been epically bad at drafting. We **** the bed year after year.

Vlade has done a better job as GM than PDA. But that's not really saying much, and he only had what PDA left him to work with. He's also been just as bad a drafter as PDA and the Magoofs. Not to mention we have Vivek goblining about back there doing lord knows what.

I mean... Has he?

-Drafted WCS. Jury still out, but he's regressed in a big way this season. Winslow, Turner, Jokic all drafted after him look like stars.

-Traded Pick swaps+Nik Stauskas (looking solid this season) +unprotected 2019 first (First season Cousins is a UFA) for Koufos and Marco. We turned Marco into Malachi, but the intent was to go all in with Vets with this move and it failed.

-Marco for Malachi. Good move, but Marco signing a complete bust to get good vets around Cousins. Jury still out obviously on Malachi.

- Chriss for Bogdan, Papagiannis and Skal. Good move in theory, but doesn't make a ton of sense when we're trying to put a winning core around Boogie in the next 3 years. Chriss by far of the three has the most star upside which might come back to bite us if Boogie is dealt.

-Afflalo, Barnes, Tolliver signings- All major busts right now. Barnes has had some big games, but basically been fool's gold as he hasn't made much of an impact on-court at all. The Off-court NYK thing is not what this team needs either.

-Really uncertain future. Even if this team was successful, which it isn't right now, Rudy, Omri, Collison, Lawson, Afflalo, Tolliver, Ben are all FA's this summer. Would be really difficult to keep this core together if we for some reason wanted to do so.

-Ty Lawson was a good bargain pick-up. Been a solid back-up PG
-Temple was a good pick-up. Very much a guy who would play a good role for a playoff team.
-Joerger is a great coach. Just need to get him the right talent.

I was one of the first who suggested/wanted DJoeger here but if we do blow it up one thing he's never done (which I did at the time point out) as a NBA coach (I'm sure he might have in his minor league days) is develop any young talent at all even JaMycal Green who is the current starting PF would have never seen the light of day if it were not for a massive rash of injuries. He seems to be doing similar things here without the veteran roster/talent he had in the past.
He would not play J. Green??? Look at these stats--> http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/greenja01.html

The saddest thing about PDA is as awful as he was he's the only GM that's actually got the better of a trade when he swapped Robinson for Patterson
