That's not a bad idea. I just couldn't wait to put my vote in.
My formula rewarded strength at the bottom of the draft, and my personal biases also rewarded originality. Multi platinum records generally did not score well with me, especially if I thought the picker was picking just for the purpose of scoring votes later. I will elaborate on that when I actually make my votes tomorrow or Tuesday.

Maybe I should be PM'ing this, but I'm not the only other commisioner probably wondering, how did you assign the point values for the coaches poll? Exactly how many points did 1st, 2nd, etc. get? Thanks

I am kind of surprised that I am getting slaughtered in the first round and that I placed so low in the initial voting. I like my list, and think it is pretty well rounded with some essentials that noone else has. I guess I am the eclectic (OLD) one after all. My first hint should have been when I was getting all my choices unchallenged. I think the fact that I left out (intentionally) all Metal and 90's grunge/alternative rock killed me. I had already been full on through the punk scene and was about more aesthetic sounding music in the 90's.

Oh well, at least I know I will happy on my island. :D

VOTE KR for a better future!

I actually had Dime Dropper #2 on my list (D-Mass was my #1). I guess I was the only one who liked his list. Maybe its cause I was listening to a lot of Rap the day I made my rankings, plus I really like the Coldplay and Snow Patrol picks.

So, simple math shows that 40-14 I gave DD is 26. 13 other users...

Sorry bro.

Sorry bro.
I liked several albums on his list, but had to rank him last just because he gave up.

hey, I got 3 more votes than I originally thought I would.
I'm curious as to why the other 2 did , I know why Warhawk voted that way.

when's round 2 for the people who get to move on?

Running down my picks:
Bozz over Dime Dropper - I didn't really care for Dime Dropper's choices before he forfeited his final picks, but that sealed the deal for me.
atxrocker over Warhawk - atxrocker's list really isn't my favorite, but there's probably more that I'd listen to overall despite what I consider some questionable selections
Slim over C-Diddy - Not a fan of C-Diddy's selections, I deducted big time for forfeiting a pick and even though Slim's musical tastes don't match mine I think they are solid selections for his preferred genre.
Spike over Go Go Gadget - Honestly, these are two of my favorite lists. I actually rate G3's a fraction higher for overall quality, but if I had to listen to each collection for the rest of my life Spike gets a very slight edge, so I'm giving him my vote. The winner of this contest is a lock for my vote against all but one other list (besides my own, which is going down anyways), at which point I would need to spend a lot of time going album by album to pick a winner.

My picks for this bracket:
Proph over D-Mass - I am way in the minority here, and I had a pm convo with Proph about one of her picks that also really informed me on how she was going about some of the others as well. D-Mass went with a lot of heavy hitters but it felt a little to safe to me, Proph went with a highly personal list and exposed more of her personality in doing so, which even though there's stuff I don't have an interest in scored big points with me.

Kingzrool over Jerryaki - again Jerryaki's list felt like it had big names but was very safe, also probably the most live albums which have big hits on them but some are of questionable quality. Kingzrool's picks were a grab bag, some I like, some I don't, but a lot more daring picks, showed more flavor which is win with me.

tradepeja over Monty'sBiggestFan - I rated MBF's higher initially, as I feel like tradepeja seems to take a lot of cues from others and also selected some picks strictly to pander to the voting crowd. Ultimately though, album for album, I like his a little bigger, and upon reflection there are one or two daring choices.

me over Brick - I actually like Brick's list. Not in my upper tier, but at the top of the middle by more than a bit, he's almost his own tier. It looks like I can expand on that in the next round. But my list is better.

Haha, I will admit there is 1 album I wasn't going to take, but people just let it fall and fall I ended up taking it. It is an album I have been listening to since I can remember and its one I love, I just thought there'd be no way I'd get it after getting my first Beatles/Nirvana/Dre/Pac stuff outta the way that I knew I'd be drafting early.

As far as draft trends, I think they affect everyone. Except really strict drafters like someone like Slim. I did take an STP album right after one was picked, and a Tool album right after one was picked just because both of them were my damn choices and I felt like I needed to take them then before more went.

And, by saying daring, is that with good connotations, or bad? :D

I do not understand most of the voting here. Wait....yes, I do. Too many youngster here playing and voting. I don't know the majority of the music from the top 4.

Wait what?

You don't know the majority of bozzwell's list? His list is basically the exact opposite of a "youngster" list.

I recognize 7 or 8 of them. Nope! That is not the majority.

Actually, If you look at all 80 albums from the top 4 individuals, it's not even close. So, I'm a baby boomer. Told you I was old. :D

And I wanted to believe you were a closet punk rocker and that's how I got your vote :p
:D

You can believe whatever you want that helps. Actually, since most people here don't even remember the time, I will admit being an active member of the United States Air Force during our "conflict" in Vietnam. And, no, I did not serve in the actual theater of operations.

Both brackets will be voted on in this thread. Second round matchups are as follows:

Purple Bracket

(1) bozzwell versus (4) C-Diddy
(2) GoGoGadget versus (3) atxrocker

Vote for only one list per matchup per bracket.

REMINDER: Because of the way this poll will have to be arranged, you will be required to make multiple votes. The vote will have to be public so that I can keep track of whether anyone makes a double-vote. With regard to this matter, I ask that you pay attention to whom you are voting for: because of the way the multiple vote factors in, it’s possible to accidentally vote for both parties in a given matchup, i.e. accidentally vote for (1) Black and (4) Black. I am including this in the OP with enough advanced notice so that everybody will be aware of what could happen. If, for some reason, you do happen to accidentally vote for both parties in a matchup, PM me before the voting deadline to advise me of the mistake and let me know whom you meant to vote for, and I will correct your vote. Any double votes that I have not been advised of by the voting deadline will be considered invalid, and not counted.
