Arco game report

Cound bite

Published 2:15 am PST Saturday, February 5, 2005

"Explain that? What do you mean? We had them right where we wanted them the whole time."
Coach Rick Adelman,
after the Kings came back from 11 points down with four minutes to play to beat the Knicks

King for the day
Mike Bibby

The Kings point guard swore he wasn't trying to prove that he was the best in the NBA, a claim the Knicks' Stephon Marbury made on New Year's Eve. But for one night, Bibby was, scoring a career-high 40 points to Marbury's 37 and dishing out seven assists to just one turnover. The Kings' most-clutch performer defended his reputation once again, hitting a three-pointer with 37.6 seconds left to cut the Knicks' lead to 115-113.

Question posed

How long can the Kings survive?

Cuttino Mobley joined Chris Webber and Peja Stojakovic in street clothes two games ago, yet the Kings continue to win. The two remaining regular starters -Mike Bibby and Brad Miller -had a collective 75 points on 27-of-45 shooting Friday. Should the trio stay out, repeating the act against Portland and Phoenix may not be realistic. - Sam Amick

Big number

61.5

The Knicks' shooting percentage, more than 10 percent better than the Kings.
