Alas, Mister Rickman won't be joining us for the rest of his life.
so sad. wonderful character actor. hans gruber will continue to stand as one of the all-time great movie villains...
i wandered into the lounge and saw one of these for the departed mr. alan rickman, but i didn't see one for the departed mr. david bowie, which struck me as something in need of correction, considering the man's tremendous legacy and influence on how we conceive of pop music. bowie often seemed apart from this world, and despite the inevitable trajectory of his illness, i think it can be said that he left this place on his own terms...

Unique actor and we will miss him. I will.
So I went to work today and the people were talking about Snape being dead and I was like no, wasn't Snape Alan Rickman??!?
This cancer thing is getting really annoying the past month.
RIP Hans Gruber
This is a funny story
I remember the Hans Gruber character the most. One of, if not the, best movie villain ever.
I loved Grizzly Adams.
Now you truly can soar with the eagles. RIP.
What the hell? This is getting very strange. Way too many talented people passing on.
Tower of Power founder and trumpeter Mic Gillette has died. He was 64.
Okay, this seriously just needs to stop.
And, on a related note, Signe Anderson, the original lead singer for Jefferson Airplane has also died at 74.
This is just getting way too bizarre. Apparently 2016 is not a good year to be 74.
With all due respect to Jefferson Airplane and The Eagles, EWF has been a much bigger influence on my musical tastes. Just another knock on a day that started poorly, and hasn't gotten any better.

EDIT: Prince's death has now been confirmed by his publicist, according to the AP:
Prince back in Minnesota after emergency airplane stop
Prince’s private plane made an unscheduled landing in Illinois just after 1 a.m. Friday and the 57-year-old Minnesota native was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital and treated for the flu, according to a report from TMZ.
A representative for Prince confirmed the gossip site’s news and said Prince has been battling the flu for several weeks.
Now confirmed by his publicist. RIP:
He couldn't of just died because of the flu, could he? has to be more to it than that...
Thank you for a funky time.
Now we know the meaning of what happens when doves cry.
