    2021 NBA Draft Superthread

Mitchell is 6’2”…. I think he is a new version of Chris Paul. I also wonder if this is a big trade that involves Fox

Kings trade Dedmon for Parker and Len (merged)

could be. Could be others like Ben Wallace, Doug Christie, Bruce Bowen and god help us Dennis Rodman who all came alive after 25. Not saying it will happen. But Parker was a true phenom at age 21.

Kings trade Dedmon for Parker and Len (merged)

I like this trade. Parker was a phenomenal high school and college freshman player. Yes he’s been injured and under-performed. Yes the NBA is littered with such players (though not that many so highly regarded). Also there are some who found their legs and superb ability at 25 years old and...

California Classic Game 2 Kings versus Heat 7/2/19

I will say this again. Guy was Mr. Ohio state basketball in H.S. He was the MVP in the NCAA finals game. I have watched his game. I am 71 years old and have watched more games than most. This “guy” has promise. Keep watching....

    Kyle Guy

Guy was Mr. Indiana H.S. basketball and a McDonald All American. He’s going to surprise a lot of folks.

    Luka Doncic

From what I have seen of Doncic he really reminds me of Larry Bird. At 19 years 3 months, what was Bird like? You can not teach that kind of Basketball IQ. It's a freaking gift. You see the court unfold before other players do. I am 70 and have watched a lot of NBA BB. Get him at any cost.

    Anxious to see Fox play

Fox will not turn 20 years old until December. His potential growth as a great player is off the charts. I read and agree with Bajaden. I just hope the Kings give him 3 good years and not screw him up. He looks extremely talented for his age.

    Randolph arrested

Hey: let's all calm down a bit. Yes it's sketchy that Randolph went to a party in the Watts area. Lots of party folks around. Is it not possible that he put his backpack down and later someone, when the police came, stuffed 2 lbs of weed into it? Just saying: do not jump to too many...

The direction of the Carter/Randolph signings

I have noticed no one has mentioned that the chance of both these signings playing a moderate amount of minutes without significant injury concerns (at their age) is very questionable. They may be mentoring, but it might be from the bench a great deal of the time, both in practice and real games.

    KINGS! Summer League-Vegas Gm 5 - 7/13/17 (round 2 vs Mavericks)

This is so difficult to watch. Does anyone else think the refs want to be star-stoppers? Let the damn kids play! They can't where every ticky-tak is whistled.

    The Official Draft Day thread

This will be an interesting competition between Fox and Mason. Mason won the Bob Cousey Award as the best Pt. Guard in College BB. This is a great pick.

What would you give up for Porzingis?

I would be wary of getting Porz. He's good but not great. I am wary because someone that tall could have injury issues shortly, knees and feet, ala Yao Ming. And although he's much lighter than Yao: it gives me great pause.

Now that we know the draft order, who do we draft? (New thread)

Yes Lonzo did not drive and dunk much at UCLA. He just drove and let someone else dunk. Did Jason Kidd drive and dunk on folks as a freshman at Cal? As for defense, that is to be seen. When you have court awareness a fraction of a second ahead of anybody on the court, that is a god-given...

Now that we know the draft order, who do we draft? (New thread)

Lonzo Ball reminds me of Jason Kidd, perhaps with a better shot. And two + inches taller. Also a better rebounder. Both have/had deceptive speed. I would take Ball in a heart-beat if he fell.

Now that we know the draft order, who do we draft? (New thread)

I have read this forum happily for ten years (thank you Baja, VF and Capt. Fac.) I am an old guy who's been watching NBA for 50 years. It is now very difficult to transfer a 19 year old kid into who he might become a great player. I look at someone who seems to see the court before others...
