    A point guard log jam

Monk is a good off-the-bench two-guard who can run some plays and see the floor like what you'd expect a starting NBA two. An argument can be made that he may be good enough to start as a SG somewhere but calling him a PG is a reach, let alone a starting PG. There are skill and knowledge...

Looking ahead to the 2022 Draft

Shaedon Sharpe: this kid's ceiling is the moon and his floor is probably a solid starter. I don't think the Kings have a shot at him, but if he's there at #7 (or wherever the Kings pick will be outside the top three), I think he's too talented to pass up. The best a Kangz fan can hope for is...

    Trade Deadline Thread

I agree with you. While I think $10M for Snell and two 2nd round picks are probably a bit of an overpay, I too would rather use the 2nd rounders in the team's possession to take swings on two young players than to burn them on some aging bench vet. .

    Trade Deadline Thread

Uh yeah. It was two 2nds instead of one. Still, the Kings had to take on Snell's contract (I believe it was around $10M) for the privilege of those two 2nds. They could probably buy two 2nd round picks for less than $10M. .

The protected first for Bogi was so protected that it was effectively a 2nd round pick. I don't blame the owner/FO for refusing to take on Snell's contract for a 2nd rounder. .

    Trade Deadline Thread

Easy no. My guess (with absolutely no basis other than the fact that he missed a lot more time than he should) is that Issac's injury is much more serious than was let on. Even an averagely 20-something-yr-old doesn't need 17 months to come back from an ACL reconstruction. The Magic drafted...

    Trade Deadline Thread

Jonathan Issac's injury takes 9 months to recover (most professionals come back sooner), he suffered the injury 17 months ago and hasn't played a game since. That fact alone should give teams pause. Unless the Magic is going to give him away, which I highly doubt, I don't think any team would...

Possible lottery picks in the 2022 draft:

This dude is my early draft crush. He's an inch shorter than you'd like, has an unorthodox wide base shooting motion, and had a knee injury; but I think he is going in the lottery and won't be surprised if he goes earlier than many people are pegging him.

    What to do with Bagley?

The Kings did not look like a playoff team to me before the season, it is not looking like one now. So what's the point of fighting for another 30-win season? Play the youngsters! And that includes Bagley, and I'm talking about serious minutes (30+). There are basically four scenarios that...

    Fire Walton

The Kings are only on a 2-game losing streak (soon to be 3 games). Walton has survived not one, but two 9-game losing streak. I expect him to be here this year and next unless the team really falls off a cliff. The Kings are on the hook for his contract until next and hiring a new coach...

Predict the Starting Lineup / Rotation

While not the starting lineup, I think this one will be the most prominent and the one to close out games: Mitchell Fox Hali Barnes Holmes As for starting lineup: Fox Hali Barnes Holmes (Whoever is hot atm - Mitchell/Buddy/Bagley/Thompson/Harkless)

    VF21

VF21 and I don't agree on many things, but I agree that she will be missed dearly. Condolences to the family and may her spirit live on. .

    Welcome Davion Mitchell

Certainly not expected, but I like this pick. To me, he's the the BPA. I'd have like Moody as a fit type of player, but I think Mitchell is the better overall player over anybody at this spot. .

Marvin Bagley III explains why he liked tweet suggesting Kings trade him

Both sides have already tipped their hands - Bagley's team said to trade him and McNair tried to do just that. At this point, a breakup is inevitable; the only question is how much can the Kings recoup. Imo, if the Kings can get a late first they should take it and run. Past return for...

Players that I would target with the 9th pick:

Franz Wagner is my guy in this draft. No, he is not going to be a star, but he may turn out to be a glue guy that every team needs. I compare him to Richard Sherman of basketball, he's lacking some athleticism but he's big and he beats you with his brain. Here is a nice breakdown someone did...

    To tank or not?

If the Kings are sticking with Walton then they should not try to win, because Walton is not a coach who wins; not with this team at least. And the Kings are not talented enough to overcome a mediocre coach. So it's rather simple to me, if you can't win then you should tank. Just do it for...

    James Bouknight

They're also losing Kent Bazemore (probably). I don't see them re-signing Oubre after he failed to live up to their expectation. Agree, they will probably explore trading the pick. However, I have a hard time seeing Hield is the one they settle on. Plus, matching salaries would be challenge.

    James Bouknight

Doubt it. The Dubs want a wing defender (or two) to replace Oubre, preferably one that can also switch to 4 when Draymond plays the 5. And I don't see how both teams can match salary.

    James Bouknight

He is intriguing but personally I'm lukewarm toward guards with tunnel vision. Bouknight gives me the Marcus Thornton/Nick Young vibe. If a player is just going to be a volume shooter, I expect him to drop some threes at a respectable rate but he doesn't. On top of that, he doesn't disrupt...

Trade Suggestion: Fox for Simmons + #28

If the Kings trade Fox for Simmons plus a pick, that's overpaying, imo. I'd rather have Fox than Simmons, and the #28 pick is meh to me. If I'm trading Fox, I'd settle for nothing less than a Zion or the #1 pick in this draft. I see this trade as selling low on Fox. .
