A first shot at Nicknames for the New Kings!

This is fun, but I think the ones that stick will be the ones that are spontaneous and given in the moment of a particularly game-defining play. At least that's how I think they should be.

Omri "The Apache" Casspi. An inglorious basterds reference.
I'm not sure a former Israeli solider would like being referred to by an American Indian nickname...

Just my two cents? I don't understand why it's so important to create nicknames for people before we've even seen them play. Nicknames should come from something "spur of the moment" not something planned.

I agree with rhythmless:

He is going to like something that doesn't reflect his jewish heritage more than something that does, imo. He already is shouldering alot of pressure from being an Israeli in the NBA. I think that my nick name for him is very much the kind he would appreciate. I am jewish, but it doesn't make my opinion better on the subject. We don't know how he feels about having a nickname at all, let alone the ethnicity behind it.

Well, we do know he's already got a nickname according to some of the newer Israeli members of the board... ;)

But hey, I didn't mean to put a damper on the fun. I just don't think anything we come up with here will actually stick. The best nicknames come out of the moment, not out of brainstorming. But there I go again...

Peace out.

The best nick names do come from spur of the moment...stuff. But it doesn't hurt to try on a couple pairs of shoes before you settle on the 1 pair that fits.

Brockman = Mr. DNPCD
I dont know about that...I think he'll be playing a little bit more than some folks are thinking...he's surprised me in alot of ways with his play. I think a more fitting name is something like: 'Black and Blue' Brockman...for all the bruising, hustling and muscling he does on the court.

Just sayin'... I do admit, however, that "Peaches" might actually be more appropriate for Cooperstown but I still really like the nickname.

:p

Brockman = Moose
Brockman = Water Buffalo
Brockman = Meat
I can just picture the crowd chanting "Meat" everytime Brockman gets a rebound or makes a hustle play.

Casspi = Casper (because he's gonna disappear on the bench like a ghost because of another season of handicapped coaching :cool:)

Tyreke Evans = Picasso (because he's quick to the paint :cool: )
