I think Brockman is going to be a legitimate contributer off the bench. Something tells me his rebounding ability is no joke and its going to translate straight into the NBA. Of course that could be the only thing that translates into the NBA but hell, we need it bad.

Tyreke being a 2 with PG skills isnt really a bad thing though.

Just means our needs may be back to getting a point again next draft. Or we can see if we can get one for Kevin if Reke proves to be a studly 2 for us eventually (like, by next summer).

I like what im seeing from Evans... The summer league is always a chaotic mess when it comes to PG play... the lanes are always clogged and with all the extra fouls players have its a mess... but Evans has shown ability to drive, and some athleticism with the fierce dunk.

What concerns me more is our 2nd yr guys JT + Greene missing so many FGs. 2nd yr summer league is where they are suppose to dominate.
We shouldn't make too much of SL, Spencer's SL last year was bad and everyone was hinting that he was a bust.

I don't think we should get too up or down about these games.

JT draws a lot of FTs too, he likes scoring inside...Which is good since our C Hawes averages like, 1 a game haha.

We'll be putting teams in foul trouble next year. Thats for true. Defense will probably remain a work in progress (as it has for the past six years or so).

Here's a "LiveTweet," with ESPN's David Thorpe as he observes the games..

LiveTweet

Whats been said so far:

david b. thorpe Evans is not close to the shooter OJ Mayo is, but he leans backwards slightly when he shoots. Like OJ. It's very hard to contest.
david b. thorpe Kings got killed in the paint all year last season. Ditto today. Somewhere, Spencer Hawes is...
david b. thorpe Donte Greene has been active. Thompson, not so much.
david b. thorpe Austin Daye has shown some nice passing skills today.
david b. thorpe Summers hits 2 quickies to start the half.
david b. thorpe Jonas Jerebko, Detroit's 2nd round pick from Sweden, looks exactly as you'd expect. Tall and blonde. He's 1-6 with 4 fouls.
david b. thorpe Tyreke: 4 to's and zero assists. Can you spell R-U-B-I-O?
david b. thorpe Omri Casspi hits a sweet jumper, sandwiched between 2 to's. Then he "Gretzky'd" a pass nicely.
david b. thorpe Jon Brockman has the kind of toughness the Kings need. But when your severely undersized 4 airballs an open 15 footer, there is concern.
david b. thorpe DaJuan Summers had himself a good start. Imperative for guys like him. First impressions are big.
david b. thorpe Evans has that great combo of length and craftiness.
david b. thorpe I thought, a year ago, that the Kings got an extra lottery pick in Donte Greene. He'd have been one this year. He has to play like one now.
david b. thorpe Austin Daye is so similar, build wise, to Prince. It's eery. He's sharp here early on.
david b. thorpe Jason Thompson looks bulkier. Not as quick to rebound so far as I'd like to see.
david b. thorpe Kings ran a post up for Evans right away. That's what they love about him.
