bears still on the loose? no clue how bear hunting works, but good luck!
Oh, no ... no. Not hunting. Just listening for the sound of him trying to get into the new "bear proof" dumpster. And, once he trips the motion detector, I'll sit inside behind the relative "safety" of my glass door and watch him.

I didn't expect a comeback, I was tempted to turn the game off when they were down 20 but I hung in there. Glad I did. I'm cool with the loss, lots of guys produced and Sampson playing tenacious defense was a joy to watch. I can see Trill being out for at least a week, those back injuries are nothing to play around with, rest is required. Bogs had another good game, that forced three was over the top but I don't want to nitpick. Need to continue to see Fox force the issue when the team has its offensive lapses, he is way too passive and even if he bricks all his shots, it's important that they guard him out there and not just wait for him to make a pass or drive into the lane with defenders waiting.

Nothing to be ashamed of here, lot of scrap and no quit in these guys, Mason is a bulldog and Bogs is clutch. Really get tired of NBA refs and the way certain players are annointed to get the "superstar" calls (or non-calls). The Freak should have fouled by the 3rd quarter on offensive fouls, he pushes off and/or puts his shoulder into the defensive player almost every time. Hope Willie is ok.

Remember when California decided to outlaw using dogs to hunt bears? Well, the results are that bears are no longer as afraid of dogs and now feel much more secure about coming into areas with human scent and searching for food.

Dogs used to be trained up here. The handlers would bring their dogs up, let them catch the scent of the bear and chase/tree it (which is what they would do when actually hunting. Dogs NEVER actually caught the bears or attacked them like a pack of wolves.) When the handlers had to quit, the bears up here quickly realized the dogs barking at them now are not going to chase them. Thus they feel safe in returning time after time to any place they've found food. And in case you're curious - bears don't hibernate up here in this part of the forest. It doesn't get cold enough.

And now that I've told you way more about bears than you probably wanted to know, I'll stop.

Hopefully it was just a strain and nothing structural. That could alter a career if so.
It looked to me like more of a tweak. Like Grant said, the fact he was back on the bench and not in the locker room getting treatment was a great sign.

Joerger gets the game ball for keeping this game close. The team came out of the blocks coasting and passive. Joerger took all 5 guys out, then he went ballistic on an official, giving him a few pertinent four-letter words, then he screamed at his team for their brain-dead turnovers. The alarm bells went off. After that the team had some fire. I haven't seen Fox play that aggressively since he's been a King, and all the other guys stepped it up. Face it, this Kings' team was out-manned. Sometimes all you can do is go down Alamo-style guns a blazing.

I loved that he did that, but only caught the 7 letter word. :D

The Bucks are a solid team. All I saw out there tonight was a young, rebuilding, and very green team hanging with a very good Bucks team. Seeing that I anticipated getting blown out, the fact that we were, at one point, heading towards that result, but were able to get it together and at least make it close in the end, tells me a lot about this team and it's potential moving forward.

News Flash, Kings Fans: We have a lot of it.

The Kings have not had a full sized athletic SF who could defend since James Johnson (at the time he was not the player he is now mentally) and Jakarr showed the value of having one even if they are a fringe NBA player. In a league of Giannis/LeBron/Simmons/Hayward/Durrant/Lenoard/Melo/Geroge you need a full sized SF who is above average and all the successful teams have one except for maybe Toronto who has a rookie.

We really need to trade or draft for one eventually Temple/Bogie/Buddy are way to small/nonathletic to compete at that position for the most part.

I really hope that was Geroge Hill last game as a King the guy got paid and has been Mozgov/Noah bad his effort is not there and he never involves himself in the game terrible mentor so far based on his actions.

That was why I was hoping we would have drafted OG Anunoby. I like Justin a lot, but I really wanted OG for defense at the 3. He excels and any offense is a bonus.

OG has been very impressive. He has the same length as KD (7'6" wingspan). Can defend everywhere! Inside and outside strong and quick.

I think OG can actually defend ALL 5 positions as he gains experience. How many players can you say that about?!

Surprisingly he has made 21-55 on his 3s too (38%). Getting 19 MPG on a 14-7 Raptors team.

Swing and miss by Vlade going for the kid from the pedigree school instead. Meh.

One way to perceive this as a positive is if OG can come back so soon from his ACL and show no ill-effects Giles can too.

Surgical and rehabilitation advances have change the prognosis for ACL especially at the young age.

While I don't necessarily disagree with anything you've said about OG, I think it's too soon to declare a "swing and a miss" by Vlade in taking Jackson.

I think there are 2 things to consider here. First, the Kings were planning on taking Giles with the 20th pick. It is never a good idea to risk 2 draft picks on players who are injured.
Second, the medicals on OG were very sketchy from all reports and scared a lot of teams off. He was projected to go in the teens until his medical reports came out and then he dropped immediately.

Yes instead of Giles - I think OG was available still too at 20 or whatever it was. Too lazy to look up what team hes actually on now.

He's playing up to expectations in Toronto. I was fully on board with OG but we'll have to wait to see about Giles. If it were up to me I would red shirt him the entire season.

We all have players we liked that we didn't pick, just mentioned it since last night was a prime example of why I wanted him. Before his injury he was ranked around 9th pick and at the time, I just knew our pick would be 8th or worse. Didn't mean to derail the game thread.

Justin has talent and has a good head on his shoulders. His first game in Reno was impressive enough and it's good he is there staying sharp until our roster gets sorted. I think he will remain a solid contributor and maybe a tad more.

OG is doing more than playing up to expectations, he's exceeding them, less than one year from ACL.

I like Justin Jackson okay, he's got a nice scoring knack and even keel to him, but bears mentioning he's 22 years old who logged a 6.9 PER before being sent to bench and G-League.

OG is 20 year old with a 13 PER playing rotational minutes for one of the best teams in the league. OG also has All-NBA defensive potential.

Just like Donovan Mitchell, OG stood out before the draft to me as a unique talent. Jackson barely registered on my radar.

(I saw Jackson as a skinny kid with average athleticism and scoring efficiency. Meh.)

Vlade needs to hit big with Giles or Jackson or bow out gracefully before he sets back this franchise further with his talent miscalculations.

Giles or Jackson (or both) need to prove capable starters at minimum in the next 1-3 years.

These two players with Buddy are what we have to show after all for trading away the most talented player in team history, who torched the Blazers last night with 38 big ones!

Well maybe up to what I thought he could produce early. As for Jackson I think he's on track and he was actually #10 on my board. Jackson and Buddy off the bench will be a big scoring force off the bench.
