Are we REALLY better off?

Yeah I'm aware of this too. I even referred to the 2019 pick as Vlade's "Noel" year in another thread, since Philly botched that one and the Okafor drafts. I'm sure we'll be picking in the upper half of the top 10 for awhile.

It'll just really suck if we end up giving them a future great. But we don't know that yet. Maybe we'll drop down to 6 that year and Philly will draft the next WCS.
oh man your post made me cringe. You just know how that 2019 draft is going to go down. The 76ers are going to pick an absolute stud with our pick.

Oladipo and Sabonis look a ton better than what the Kings got in exchange for Cousins. This is the part that will eventually get Vlade fired. Many will remember the attempt to paint what the Kings got for Cousins as "pretty good considering the market." I doubt that view lasts.

Someone in the organization will realize the Kings sold in a buyer's market, instead of getting talent cheap on the dollar to add to Cousins. Then they'll see that the deal they got really was awful and someone will be gone.

It'll come down to Giles. If Giles doesn't result in anything, then it'll turn into a horrible trade.

At best, Buddy is a fringe starting SG while Jackson is only a 3&D role player. Kings should've just stayed at 10...

Ya even Russell and lakers pick would be better he has more star power and Lakers pick would’ve been top 8 ours top 5

I sometimes think we would be better off if we had kept Jimmer Fredette but then I snap out of my delusion and realize I'm not a BYU alumnus.
I hope the guy with the Jimmer jersey I chatted with tonight wasn't a BYU/Mormon-only fan because I felt like I had a good laugh about his Kings loyalty to rock a Fredette jersey in 2017.

It sucks because while we never committed to a tank like we did in trading Cousins, had we not botched Jimmer/T-Rob/McElmore/Stauskas 4 years in a row we could have done right by DMC and Reke.

On the flip, it's hard not to see in the past two seasons we've done better assembling young talent than we did in that 4 year stretch and we should get a top flight talent in 2018 as well.

really that was 4 straight years of first rounders huh... hurts to be reminded of that. What if we had only botched 2 of the 4 and hit on the 2 others... jeeeeeezzz. :(
