Not happy at all with De’Aaron.. His play has been devoid of the same energy since he first got smashed against Wall as a starter it seems to me.. just not what we saw the first stretch in terms of attacking etc

I don’t understand why it appears so many offensive sets are run for WCS. I don’t understand this team’s strategy.

I think I caught during the pre-show that Willie said he's got the same body type as Porzingis so he should be able to be doing some of the same things, or something like that. No dude, you have a chance to be a terrific finisher/defensive role player, commit to that and have a nice long career.

Buddy has been playing good since coming off the bench. Sadly, our only consistent player it seems... who would've thought?

The team that drafted him 6th? haha, but yeah, the players around him being this is shocking. He's the highest level prospect next to Fox the Kings have. Buddy isn't Kobe but he's been seriously underrated since coming to Sac.

He was just never as good or polished as some people made him out to be. Lots of people kept with constant John Wall comparisons that made absolutely no sense to me. Just from a physical standpoint, Wall was 6'4 196lbs. Fox was 6'3 169lbs. Yet, people constantly kept with the "he's more athletic and quicker than Wall!" talks...despite 19yearold Wall being more athletic and physically dominant than Fox.

Believe it or not, his 1/4 performance from downtown actually increased his 3pt % to 19...

I hope the 2 matchups against Wall silence the comparisons. Let Fox grow into his own player..and I don't think anyone should be putting pressure on him to become a superstar either.

I'd have to agree with this. He is just one nice complimentary piece to have moving forward. Hopefully the Kings can net themselves a superstar talent in the upcoming draft, with some luck of course.

Good to temper expectations. We're at least a year away from knowing what we have with Fox, but the Wall comparisons were a bit premature and silly.

I still like the Fox pick, but he does have a ways to go.

It's called coaching your player into a hold that holds him back versus playing to his strengths. I've said this since the beginning.. The more Fox gets used to the offense Joerger has in place, the more uncomfortable he'll look... It is unfavorable to shooters and guards. It's favorable only to inside scoring forwards and bigs.

Shooters can't get into rhythm in Dave's offense and ball handlers don't have any freedom or lanes to probe inside.

It Deaaron ever leaves. Watch him explode in a better system.

Guards have two jobs in this system dribble to the baseline for a handful or drop it in for a post up. Sprinkle some P&R a few times and bam there goes the bad offense.

Fox-Skal looked good the times they ran the P&R

Joerger did not sub out until 3 minutes left in the third. What's the deal with that? Kings were already down 20 with Hill, Randolph, and WCS in there.
I know he's trying to win a few games, but why stagnate the growth of the rooks and youngsters?

Only Randolph and Koufas are out of the negative.

Hard to Believe, Cousins number 2 in the NBA. Wow! He's playing like an absolute Monster this year.

Watched him tonite against the Hawks. He was literally doing everything. Passing, running the floor, rebounding and even playing some serious D.
Pels won't go anywhere until they replace Gentry and get some decent wings who can shoot.

Joerger's offense is just awful to watch. I didn't think that watching all these young prospects could ever be boring, but Joerger is trying his hardest to make it that way.

Where are the easy buckets? The wide open shots? I'm so over watching this high post crap and I'm just as over complaining about it myself. Our guards are constantly guarded all game. Our bigs are always guarded. It's just 1 on 1 over and over. Meanwhile, every single other team that plays against us gets dribble penetration which leads to easy buckets or wide open shots. They are coached to overplay the interior and allow wide open 3's all game. Joerger obviously favors his big men on offense so it's no surprise that he over compensates to stop points in the paint on the defensive end because he apparently thinks that it's the key to winning games.

The Kings have a lot of players, yet nearly none of them are really a net positive. That to me, is coaching. How is it possible that every player on the team looks like they suck? How do we have zero standout players? Why do we only have 1 player that breaks the 20pt mark every 3 games or so? Why does George Hill all the sudden suck? Why do we get WCS open lobs one game and then not a single easy bucket for the next 3? Why are we rarely running the pick and roll with Fox? Why are these guys so bad at setting and using screens?

We all know they are going to lose games but they shouldn't be down by 30 nearly every game.

3 minutes is EARLY for Joerger. Usually he waits till 2.

Look, I know a ton hate when everyone rags on the coach, I get it. But can everyone admit the 3 minute marker first substitution is very abnormal for a coach? In all my years watching basketball, I've never seen a coach wait past 5 on the regular, 6 minute is usually the average. I can't help but think it throws rhythms off, in the second half especially.

Spot on.

Same story in Memphis. Nobody could shoot or break out no matter who they signed. Shooters would come in and hit career low shooting. Difference is, they had elite defenders and two very good bigs so they survived. We don't have that. We have good young offensive weapons. Experienced veteran scorers and playmakers. We have the fastest player in the league and bottom in pace. I'm done with Joerger's awful and boring system.

Idc how bad your team is.. When no one can drop 20 a game on the team, something is wrong. Only the Spurs can do that, and we sure as hell aren't the Spurs.

To be fair, George Hill just doesn't fit no matter what system we're running. He plays like a 3&D wing in a PG's body; I think his problem is that he can't be a starting PG unless he's the secondary ballhandler and playmaker.

But, while it's not as egregious as George Karl and Cousins, this offense is a problem. It benefits one person and one person alone, and that's Zbo. Coincidence that's he the focal point of the offense; I don't think so. There are two hallmarks to this offense: paint scoring/postups and high-post action. Zbo is the only one that can check both boxes, even as the rotting corpse he is now.

Only two players on the team have post-up ability, that's Zbo and Skal, and even then it doesn't benefit the latter the most (more on that in a second). Only Zbo really works as a passing big in the high post.

I'm usually one of the first to trash Koufos, but I'm seeing the ball get dumped into him a lot more this year. To Kosta Koufos, y'know, the guy with next to no offensive ability? That's not really fair because that's not his game in the slightest.

Drive-n-kick, PnR, transition. That's the type of offense we should be running. PnR with Fox and WCS, as well as PnR and more importantly PnP with Skal. We saw it once this game, but every time they run it it seems to work. This is where picking Hill over bringing back Lawson stings. Lawson is tailor-made for this type of offense that works so much better with our guys. Hill isn't. Neither is Zbo.

I don't get it either, substitutions should of been made way earlier in the third when it was obvious that the Wiz were going to blow it wide open in that quarter and not wait until you're down by 20 to put in the bench.

That's what happens when you give a coach former players he's coached and had success with. I don't know many teams in the NBA that throw the ball in the post and if they do, it may be to a guard for a mismatch of some sort but surrounding their entire offense on post ups? yikes!
