[Game] Kings @ Knicks - Saturday, Nov. 11 - 5 PT

#99
He’s 21.
He’s skilled and a good kid so I’ll assume solid role player. Joerger just needs to play him. Having Zach with the large minutes and Skal with a short leash is just a no for me
I'm actually a big supporter in Skal. I think he's got the most potential of any player on our team...but it's become so hard to watch him. He shows absolutely no basketball instincts at times. 2nd night in a row where he fouls a 3pt shooter because he jumps at them. Why are you jumping at a 3pt shooter when you are 6'11 with a 7'2 wingspan? Let's be honest with ourselves, that's straight up dumb. On offense he travels half the time when just trying to pivot and attack the rim. I really really want to believe in him, he has such a poor feel for the game. I'm not even talking basketball IQ, I'm talking about him not knowing how to play basketball. Lack of common sense shows up more often than not with Skal.

He's 21 and I question whether or not he can play basketball. Porzingis is 22 and already a star.

uhm no. I said nothing about the Kings under Cousins. Strictly talking about Porzingis. Look at his supporting cast.... his complimentary scorers are Tim Hardaway followed by Enes Kanter...but Knicks are 6-5, and probably 7-5 after tonight.

Porzingis is an amazing talent. He's straight up dominating the Kings everywhere.
Weren't the Kings 7-5 with Boogie once upon a time. This is way too small of a sample.

Everyone dominates the Kings, this is nothing new here. You are just in awe.

Skal needs to spend the season in Reno playing 30 min a game and learning. Sitting on the bench isn’t what he needs

They can at least threaten the other team offensively. I'd rather see Bogdan in place of Mason however because geez they are small otherwise.
I like it because of Mason. Bogs can rotate in with JJ. Or Hield. Or Fox.

& Of course you only play it when the other team remotely matches up with it.

Tough loss, not much to be positive about. Willie defended the Unicorn pretty well until the Refs fouled him to the bench. Knicks shot 44.4 % from the three point line.

Just when you think the Kings show signs of offense, they revert back to scoring in the teens or low 20s in half of the game...scoring is numero uno to work on. They need collectively many players to do better percentage-wise.
I wouldn't mind if 8 players had a 10ppg+ average but only 4 do at the moment.

The Unicorn is an amazing player and by no means am I comparing Skal to him. But the Unicorn has been playing basketball since he was 6 and Skal started late in Haiti and missed key development time in high school... Porznigis is literally years ahead in his development. Skal has potential hes young to the game give him some time.

I'd rather Skal spend 30mins in Reno vs. 15mins off the bench. He's such a talented player and playing as much basketball is the best way to develop him.
Personally, I'd rather throw him out for 30 minutes a game in the NBA regardless of whether he plays well or not, win 15 games and tank for Doncic. He's not the type of player where I think being in the doghouse does him good.

5th three by the corpse of Courtney Lee

Sigh
The corpse? Courtney Lee would probably be the most consistent player on the current Kings team and has been one of the most consistent 2 way role player for some time.

Also waiting till the game is completely out of reach to make any rotations and keeping George " Mozgov" Hill in the game is just becoming tiresome. If Hill keeps this up he's by a wide margin the worst signing in the history of the Kings.

Hopefully Giles can give us something to hope for other than Fox not really much of a believer in Skal and WCS.
