"you know De'Aaron didn't get anything done for the first 43-44 minutes, you know he got some of his numbers at the end"

(Fox plays 26 minutes in a George Hill-less game)

"Same thing for Frank, you know Ish just dominated him in the second half, I mean he was in the lane all night long [...] you know I coached Ish before and I'm extremely happy for him and his career"

Frank: 21 minutes, 7pts, 6asts, one of the first few times he played remotely this many minutes.
Ish Smith the Dominator: 19 mins, 10 pts, 2asts, & regularly plays major minutes.

Thanks coach for your belief in your floor generals, good to know you have their backs

P.S. when do you ever hear a coach criticize their rookie players in this manner?

I watched the complete game and saw Coach Joerger speak these words. Those words alone read out of context to the actual interview.

OP whats the deal with you and Coach Joerger?

How can those words possibly read out of context? He unnecessarily and unfairly is criticizing his own players two weeks into their careers?

I listen to interviews from coaches throughout the league. Criticizing your players is a no no. Saying a cornerstone player did nothing practically the entire game is something you keep to yourself. Saying the other teams backup PG dominated your 3rd string rookie PG is a no no. These are things every coach knows from a media standpoint. Many ways to coach and discuss your players efforts to the media. This is a bad and unintelligent way to talk about your team.

I'm a fan of basketball and I know a bad coach when I see one.

Surprisingly enough you mis-quoted him to make it sound worse. I don't have any evidence to suggest that you are objective when it comes to Coach Joerger.

Don’t agree. It is called coaching. And if that is criticism I think the players and us fans can take it. And the “poor coach” thing, that’s what a good fan does not call a good coach.

I'm a fan of Joerger as an overall head coach, but I will say that he does do things that make me question him as a developmental coach. Granted I haven't watched every minute of every Kings game this year, but it seems like players minutes and roles are fluctuating too much. Buddy Hield was our go to guy in game 1, struggled a little bit in follow up games and now has only played 25 minutes or more in 2 of the last 7 games. Skal played over 30 minutes in game 1 and then gets 6 minutes in Detroit after getting 16 minutes in Boston. He drops 17 points on Phoenix then follows that up by only getting 15 minutes against New Orleans with Anthony Davis out. Frank Mason gets 21 minutes in Detroit before getting 7 in Boston, 5 in Indiana, but 22 in Washington. I get having a disjointed roster full of young guys and pricier vets and trying to figure out what roster looks best, but Joerger seems to be taking it to the extreme. I doubt one person on our roster knows what their actual role is.

How did I misquote?
I don't have any evidence to suggest that you are objective when it comes to the Kings front office/coaching.

Your point on playing time was just discussed on 1140. These guys are playing like they have absolutely no idea what their role is on this team. That is squarely on coaching.

Even though i personally don't like Joeger's fit with this team, he is here to stay and I'm ok with that. Especially considering out recent history with coaches. I pray that vivek does not lose confidence and goes off willy nilly and blows our coach and vlade out. This franchise cannot afford another stint of major turmoil. Each loss is adding to the cringe factor I'm experiencing. Not because I can't handle it but because I'm wondering whats going on in viveks mind.
