[Pre-season]Kings @ Warriors - Friday, Oct.13

Zach Randolph is the only big on this team that knows how to box out. How many put backs did the Warriors have tonight? More than I can count. Our big guys just have no idea how to rebound.

Bell looks like Draymond lite out there.

The boxing out, or lack of, is very concerning and aggravating . No excuse to not be able to execute a basic fundamental
I left out Koufos, he's not perfect but he ad least fundamentally boxes out most the time.

Skal and Papa still have time to learn since they haven't been playing that long. WCS has no excuse. 3 years in college and now starting his 3rd year in the NBA. I'd say the odds of him ever learning to box out correctly is slim.

Sucks when a rich team like the Warriors land a guy like Bell who basically does everything and more.

I was mystified the warriors were able to "buy" that 2nd round pick for Bell so cheaply. How did another team (ah hem Vivek and kings) not bid higher for that pock in this deep draft. What an incredible bargain. The NBAs GMs need to enter the 21 century and use some platform that allows all GMs to see whats being offered or up for "auction" in order to get the best deal. The lack of transparency and information on what deals are being offered is a head scratcher to me. Seems they still rely on a corded phone when "negotiating"

It might not be too long before a robot replaces the need for a GM. As far as Bell goes, yes its a bit frustrating as all us fans were big on him pre draft. I recon in 2018 we will turn that pick into another big that hopefully plays a tough modern day game.

The other thing that makes it even more annoying is it's not like any of the big's contest many shots which than you could somewhat live with them not boxing out if they are altering shots since they would be out of position.

I can underatand and forgive the offense looking cluncky, but as a kings fan, i cant look past lack of hustle and intensity on the defensive end and rebounding. Thats just effort. We are not talking about switching issues etc. Its the lack of fight that disappoints me in WCS and Skal. They need to develope the heart of a lion that wants to eat everything in its way. Jordan would loo to destroy anyone opposite him even if its just practice or in one instance a kid in high school sating he was better than him. Everytime someone gets that board or tip in over you they just beat you.

Big step forward by the Kings in my opinion during this game. A lot of confidence showed unexpectedly and it was contagious. Stockton and Mason looked really good. So where has Stockton been hiding? I didn't even know he was on the roster again.
Turnovers continue to be an issue. Young guys getting to know each other and hopefully they will learn how quickly windows close in the NBA.
We are in trouble when the leading rebounder gets 4 boards.
We are in trouble when the leader in assists gets 4.
We are in trouble when the Warriors are having lay up drills. The Kings consistently gave up fast break lay-ups, backdoor layups and put back layups. It was the difference in the game. The Kings defense and rebounding really faded in the second half. They must not be in game shape yet. Their effort was at a pretty high level in the first half. Midway in the third they played like they were tired.
Papa showed us something. Good for him. He is so young he needs some slack.
Jackson is going to good but it takes time.
Fox and Hill will be good when they are healthy. Mason and Stockton looked like starters. Lots of guard talent for a change.
Carter and Jackson are capable.
The bigs are the weak link so far. They have plenty of raw talent, but need to bring up the level of effort and concentrate on defense and rebounding. The offense will come with time.
To name names, Willie and Skal are going to have to step it up if the Kings are going to win more than 28-30 games.
