Big step forward by the Kings in my opinion during this game. A lot of confidence showed unexpectedly and it was contagious. Stockton and Mason looked really good. So where has Stockton been hiding? I didn't even know he was on the roster again.
Turnovers continue to be an issue. Young guys getting to know each other and hopefully they will learn how quickly windows close in the NBA.
We are in trouble when the leading rebounder gets 4 boards.
We are in trouble when the leader in assists gets 4.
We are in trouble when the Warriors are having lay up drills. The Kings consistently gave up fast break lay-ups, backdoor layups and put back layups. It was the difference in the game. The Kings defense and rebounding really faded in the second half. They must not be in game shape yet. Their effort was at a pretty high level in the first half. Midway in the third they played like they were tired.
Papa showed us something. Good for him. He is so young he needs some slack.
Jackson is going to good but it takes time.
Fox and Hill will be good when they are healthy. Mason and Stockton looked like starters. Lots of guard talent for a change.
Carter and Jackson are capable.
The bigs are the weak link so far. They have plenty of raw talent, but need to bring up the level of effort and concentrate on defense and rebounding. The offense will come with time.
To name names, Willie and Skal are going to have to step it up if the Kings are going to win more than 28-30 games.
