[Pre-season]Kings v. Spurs - 10/2/17

#94
I've watched him two years now, and I still vaccilate in terms of what I think about him and his future gamely
Well I think its safe to say he needs a whole lot of development this season. Which is just fine. He was a project.

Next season though if we don't see much change, it's probably gonna be a short career.

I like Jackson, but he was putting up 20+ one night then being terrible the other in SL. We will get to consistency with him :)

Malachi.. doesn't seem to have a lot of floor game. Not high on what I've seen lately

Jackson looks to be a 3&D player, but 3pt shooting is inconsistent, and his D is still in progress. Malachi's D was probably the best out of all our guards, but his offense was just too forced. He's too much of a shot creator, and I just don't see him getting his opportunities because we already have Hill/Fox/Randolph/Buddy/WCS/etc.

I'm home already. It still blows my mind how easy it is to get in and out of the G1C.

Thoughts; The vets were solid. I don't want Koufos starting, but unless/until WCS steps up he'll be out there. Vince Carter was a joy to watch on the bench. Dude was coaching more than Joerger. Excellent signing, just for the vet leadership and whatever he gives us on the court is a bonus.

De'Arron Fox --- ELECTRIC. The kid is special. His quickness is absurd. Only had to take two jumpers (1-2) because he was getting to the rim at will.

Frank Mason --- Rock solid. He doesn't have the electric game of Fox, but the kid can flat out play.

Bogdan/Hield/Richardson --- Hield was the top of this group. Bogdan and Mali didn't do too much.

Jackson --- Missed his shots, but they weren't bad shots. They just didn't go in. No floater game tonight (that I remember)

WCS --- Fouled out fast. Not impressed. I want him in the starting lineup next to ZBo, but as always... which Willie will show up?

Skal --- Showed his excellent offensive touch throughout the night. Also got owned on the boards and D. So much of the same as last season. He definitely needs to play next to someone who covers his weakness.

PapaG --- Tale of two halves. Worst player on the court in the first half. Abysmal. Came out in the second half, remembered he can play ball and competed. Got his fifth foul early fourth (I believe) and managed to stay on the court through the rest of the game. Was he great that second half? Not really. Was he serviceable? Definitely.

It was fun seeing all te rookies/sophomores. Fox and Mason were sta douts but all of them played well tbh.

Also it was cool seeing a couple Serbian fans with a flag, me and my friends were a few rows away. Lots of ex-Yugo in the arena tonight haha.

Went to the game because Joerger said all were going to play...

Our PGs are damn good.
Bogdanovich is really good even though he didnt light up the stat page.....moves the ball quickly and moves without the ball. I think he's going to be special.
Skal has lots of game
Papa in the second half was very solid....I thought his defense was really good....struggles at times at the top of the key with the ball in his hands but got better.....I think he's going to be fine given time and realistic expectations

It's going to be a fun team to watch

Jackson I think just needs to get comfortable. He's not a bad player but he's clearly lookin a little shy out there and hesitant.

This is the type of team that will grab some really fun wins this year.

Koufos is such a bad fit, I have to say. He literally does the same thing every game every year, clusters up the offense and takes some awkward little hooks and that's about it. Zbo was hitting his shots, not sure what his interest will be like this year, not sure if he fits on a young development team, especially at his age.

For the first time since Tyreke's rookie season, I had some fun & got some hope.
There is enough talent on the team to compete for the 8th as I've been saying all along. Whether or not that is for the good of the franchise as opposed to a top pick is another question. But the predictions of not competing by the pundits are not true. Joerger is a good coach. Hill is solid as oak.

I picked them to win just 17 this year.

Let me see a few more games and I'll tell you what I think as far as wins & loses.

But it was vibes & energy, seeing the young fellas play. There's a raw legitimate potential to harvest.

Not even close, my friend.

Like what I'm reading and highlights im seeing on twitter, especially about Fox and Mason, but the Kings are going to be in a dogfight for the worst team in the conference by a considerable margin with the Suns. There just isn't an easy out in the West right now... which is crazy, but should lead us to a considerable amount of losses.
