Basically we have control over Mason, if we want it. We have to submit a "required tender" by September 6 in order to do that, which is typically a one-year minimum contract. He can sign that, or we can negotiate a better NBA deal. But if he signs it, then we can subsequently cut him and be the only team allowed to sign him to a two-way. However, I think at that point he would be a free agent and could sign a full-fledged NBA contract with another team.

But my guess is that we will sign him to a full-fledged NBA deal.
Thanks, my interest was purely academic and terms of how would this work from the players perspective. I know for most of these guys any contract that can get them into the league is a good thing, but there always seems to be that guy that either really does have legit chance on another team or thinks he does. But yes I suspect Mason will get locked up on a regular deal and if we offer to a contracts they'll be too more rough prospects than him

I don't usually respond in these threads because I don't think the players are going to read them but after our first SL game I said I was still waiting for NPOY Frank Mason to show up and he showed up tonight! So welcome to the team Frank Mason, it's great to have you. :) And bonus points for finding NPOY Buddy Hield and bringing him along as well.
