Now it's SL crunch time! Unleash Scrubbs and let Naz Long bomb his way into our hearts. We're going to live up to that proud tradition of Ray McCallum.

((I'm in full IDGAF mode. :p ))

For selfish reasons I would love to see the Kings beat the Bucks so that I can get early preview of the Fox vs Smith Jr. battle.

I wanted Kings to get Smith if Fox was not there.
Smith has looked good in SL. Last night he iced a win with a 3 point shot at the end of the game. He looks ready for the NBA to me. Good ball handling and setting up teammates for hoops.

Cuban and Carlisle have really focused on him from what I have read. Carlisle sitting next to him on a plane trip going over game film of Westbrook. Cuban urging him to clean out his twitter posts.

Smith Jr and Fox will face off (assuming neither is DNP - Lonzo'd) even if we lose.

Smith Jr has been better than I thought. But I have same concerns with him as I kind of do with Frank Mason Jr. For a player with subpar length for the position, I would like to see a little more speed and quickness to gain an edge.

I have been fairly impressed with Mason but I would feel more confident in him if he had that extra gear that he would go to put the defense on their heels. I see the same thing with Smith Jr. He has exhibited good poise and decision making in the half-court. Very impressive for a 19 year old! (Much better than Fultz the Gunner) but I see a guy who is not going around defenders a la Isaiah or even a Kemba Walker or Chris Paul.

That gear that I am referring to (the one De'Aaron Fox has and the one Donovan has) is the difference between pretty good and star. Even a guy like Stephen Curry who does not have blow-by-speed has quickness that can not be contained.

It will be exciting to see Fox vs Dennis Smith Jr. I don't think Smith has the quickness to keep up with him. Smith Jr will want to make a statement against player picked 4 slots ahead of him, and Fox will want to show why he was.

Just some info in case you didn't know.

1. Thon Maker will not participate, it was planned that he would play a couple of games and then go back to Milwaukee to train with Giannis.
2. I doubt that any player on Bucks SL roster can guard Fox.
3. Naz Mitrou-Long is half greek (Mitrou is the last name of his greek mother) :D

I think Kings will advance.
Seriously?

I just want the Kings to win. I don't care if they are playing a pickup game at the freaking YMCA. Just win, baby!
If we want to win today then perhaps we should play Cooley more minutes than Papa G. Cooley gets rebounds out of his area and defends without fouling. Papa G does neither. Papa G has been disappointment and maybe this embarrassment is good for him as lesson for as much progress as he has made, he still hasn't accomplished anything. I think it will be good for him to schooled by Z-Bo in practice. If Boogie calls Randolph the toughest guy he goes against, he will be a nightmare for Papa G. Z-Bo projects as backup center especially if we trade Koufos for wing help. Melo appears to be on move in a potential 4-team trade to HOU. Maybe we can get in on this action and swap Koufos for a wing with Koufos going to HOU.

:( I hope Fox's ankles won't be an issue going forward. They just said he sprained his ankles multiple times in the past week. It's not serious at all, just minor tweaks. He'll play in the next game.

Oh jeez... hopefully PJ has a lozenge tonight.

No Fox and Hield is done for the SL.
I cannot stand to listen to him. I'd rather put forks in my blender.

This should be interesting:

Mason, Montero, Jackson, Skal and PapaG for the Kings.
