KINGS! Summer League-Vegas Gm 3 - 7/10/17

there seems to be some odd comonality about many of these sudden cult favorites...
Did you not see the game last night? He was put in when we were 28 points down, and then, the comeback happened. As he was removed from the game, he transferred his powers to Mason in order to complete the task.

As a byproduct of this transference, two maidens sitting in the front row were innocently squired.

Do not doubt his magic.

Hall of Famer
I think Skal is being used to run predetermined half court plays each time, papa too. So they are likely just doing as they're told and looking for easy baskets whenever they can get them.

There was a few instances where he had a one on one matchup where he can do his slick turn around but he basically held the ball and waited for an obvious half court play to develop where he gives it up to a slasher. Papa has been subject to this more. The spacing gets so bad and then they look bad...Papa more so because he's having trouble exposing the ball.

It's obvious the Kings will want to run a lot of high post stuff and I think the future they want with Papa and Skal is a C-Webb and Vlade dynamic where they run through them. Even if they aren't passers on that level. Kings don't want to be an up top team(point guard playmaking dominant) They want to go inside-out. Princeton offense again. Neither are looking to do much offensively except initiate the offense and it's not working here. Clearly the staff isn't looking for Wild West youth movement. I think they're looking for to establish a clear system and are grooming their bigs into certain roles instead of giving Skal free reign to see if he's the next Chris Bosh. Then again, it's only summer league.

I think they'll run these a lot with Willie come preseason time.
All of which may occur. We'll see. Another possibility is that the Kings are going to run a lot more than what we've seen here in summer league. When you have Fox, WCS, Jackson and Hield, there's no reason you can't push the ball. Of course, it all requires defense to get the ball, and that's an open question right now.

Caruso and Blue are both undrafted G-League scrubs. That's the thing with Summer League. There's lots of scrubs playing and some of them blow up for a game or two. It means absolutely nothing.

Without even looking it up, I'm willing to bet neither of them did anything the 1st two games. They just happened to play the Kings tonight who have always had a penchant for making scrubs look like future hall of famers, whether it be during the Summer League or the regular season. Tonight was no different.
Vander Blue was the D-League MVP last year. He was all-Nba d-league 1st team the past 2 years (and all-star the past 3 years).

D-League being the key word. I'm very aware of his d-league prowess. He's still not been good enough to play in the NBA. Even if he makes it this year, he's an end of the bench guy. My comment wasn't intended to imply that he wasn't a capable d-leaguer. But with regard to the NBA, he's a scrub.

Actually, you called him a G-League scrub. Big difference.

Well, yes. It's the G-League now. He's a scrub and he's in the g-league. Been there for years. Hence g-league scrub. You misinterpreted because, well, I suppose I could have been a bit more clear in my description.
Sorry, but if you refer to someone as a G-League scrub, the assumption is that he is a scrub in the G-League (not one of their best players). That means that while he may be a scrub in the NBA, he's still one of the better players in arguably the toughest basketball league other than the NBA.

Well, as I clarified, that's not what I meant. Sorry for the confusion. But I think we understand each other now, even if we don't see eye to eye.
