I'd argue WCS looked way way worse last year. It was so bad I was actually worried about his ability to play in the NBA.
to Willie's defense, he was part of a experiment with him aggressively looking for his shot to see if he has any offensive moves and that just wasn't the case. Summer league is a perfect environment to experiment with line ups & play calls.

True and that's what we have to remember... Player development rather than winning the game is the goal in summer league.

Which is exactly why we've been seeing Skal & Papa catching the ball in the high post. Obviously the spacing was horrible so it didn't look as proficient as it should but again, it's a place to experiment and next game I expect the team to try something else.

It would have been nearly impossible to look worse. :p

(And yea, I definitely agree)
I think u guys are on to something. He set our expectations low with the first game. Then each following game in summer league all we see is an upward trajectory. The G in PapaG stands for Genius!

I am not saying that Papa has been anywhere near good so far, but it is just S.L. and he probably only did condition training so far. It is tough to plays that unorganized for some players.

But I get it ,still 3 months to start the season, the SL is a nice "kick" :D I am probably even worst as i stay late at night (here in Europe) to catch some SL games as I miss NBA already :D

I have created a chart to better document a large group of reactions :

I love it

Papagiannis received invitations for both Men's and U20 Greek NT. He will be going to the Men's team and he has to appear by 24th July.

Interestingly enough Koufos didn't receive one after talking to the coach, and there are speculations whether this has to do with him seeking another team (as I said speculations).

Other NBA/NCAA ers on the team: Greek Freak (Bucks), Tyler Dorsey (Hawks), Zach Auguste (on trial by Heat), Mitoglou (Wake Forest) and Thanassis (Greek Freak's older Brother)

After seeing Papa's non-improvement I wonder if the Kings are rethinking the possible trading of Koufos, who looks like All Star material next to Papa.

Papa will be fine. He just needs more reps and more time to strengthen his body. I wouls be very interested to know about his physical conditioning program. There is a chance him and teammates are doing a lot of lifting earlier in day so are weak when these SL gamea roll around

As mentioned it is all about the regular season so bo days of lifting are going to be skiped over a sumer leaue game where coaches are probably more concerned about getting the plays and call terminology down

They've done two a days for the last 8 days the SL coach said in an interview.

They're probably doing this to not only get them in shape but to mentally prepare them for what an NBA season is like.

The Kings are not waiving Papa or sending him to Reno based on a bad summer league. For 25 games last season he proved he's an NBA player. He'll be fine. My opinion is that the whole team is being worked to shreds in practice even on game days.

Thank you very much for this insight. After seeing buddy atruggle with his shot and Papa inexplicably LOOK in better shape yet be Weaker at same time this is the only thing that makes sense...and it makes perfect sense! Why would they not be getting worked like crazy to get every ounce out of offseason they can....they not going to prepare tand save their bodies for these pointless games

@mr_jasonjones: Joerger is pleased with Papagiannis: "Papa looks great, his body looks great, he’s done a lot of work, but he still has a long ways to go."
