Zach Randolph signs with Kings

Absorbing contracts from teams eager to shed salary?
It could still be done. The Kings have salary space.
Exactly. They still can take part in something like that if they so choose. But at the same time, they can't wait forever for these other teams to decide what they're going to do. They've already had plenty of time as it is. The Kings have got a roster to fill out and can't sit on their hands forever.

The Kings aren't under severe pressure to fill out the roster, because the Kings won't be able to compete anyways. Having Zbo is not a necessity but more of a luxury (I don't think it was a good signing, but that's another topic we already discussed).
On the other hand some teams are under pressure to clear space. So the Kings are in an advantageous situation.
More cap space - more flexibility.

Nah, they're fine. Way too much is being made out of this. They're still flexible enough to do whatever the hell they want.

I think it's gotten to the point that some fans are gonna complain for the sake of complaining no matter what they do or don't do (not referring to you).

Well it can't be so annoying actually. Most of the fans posting here and at Sactownroyalty are really optimistic. A small minority is taking the wait and see approach. And I don't think they can be blamed for that, after the way Vlade basically torpedoed last season and the way he handled his business.

I tend to be in the pessimistic crowd nowadays, due to all the shenanigans, tomfoolery and ballyhoo we've had to endure over the much of my time as a fan. However, I'm not about to be negative for the sake of being negative simply because an overwhelming amount of fans are suddenly optimistic. I didn't and still don't like the Boogie trade or the Philly trade or the constant coaching/GM carousel that went on, but I've seen many things recently to get excited about. And there's other things I don't think are a big deal to get worked up about. This just happens to be one of them.

I actually can't wait for Summer League tomorrow -- except for the inevitable rush to judgement by the same faction of fans that complain every single year

Me neither. It's going to be my first in depth look at our rookies and I'm extremely curious, how our second year players handle their business. Exum and Brown set the tone. I hope our guys can somehow do the same.
