Welcome Justin Jackson

He kind of reminds me of Tayshaun Prince a bit, I think he'll be great for team chemistry on and off the court.
This. I like the Tayshaun Prince comp. Jackson gets buckets in the flow of the offense.
That's the comparison the NBATV guys made as well during draft night and that I mentioned earlier in the thread. Let's hope he proves to be as good or better. :)

As an avid UNC fan, I've seen JJ play quite a bit over the past 3 years. He's made steady improvement each season. Oddly, coming out of HS, he was known for his perimeter shot but that aspect of his game didn't re-appear until this past season. He put in a lot of work to get his shot back to where it once was. His floater can be deadly and he still makes it when contacted. I really think his defense might surprise, assuming Coach Joerger and staff really push that aspect of his game.

I'm another that has taken time to warm to this pick and was initially not happy trading down from 10. Prior to the draft I questioned Jackson's body mechanics and he never looked very athletic too me.
Anyways, I'm over it as now hearing many good thing about his game and personality and some interesting comparisons to very successful players.

I was not very high on Justin Jackson at all before his junior year. He was a rail thin. In last year's combine, he weighed in at only 193lbs.. 3 years before that, he weighed in at 189lbs at Lebron's camp. So you could imagine where I'm headed with this. Jackson was an extremely SOFT player. Avoided contact any chance he had... even led to him settling for floaters. His jumpshot was extremely inconsistent. Everything about his game was inconsistent.
However, in his junior year, he added 7-8lbs, improved his shot, improved his ball handling, improved his leadership, and perfected his awkward floater. He went from a soft and passive player, to being the man of his team.

Lots of reasons to be excited about Justin Jackson. He's a very hardworker with good IQ. I think the biggest concern with Jackson is whether or not he'll be able to pack more weight into his frame. He needs to get stronger to be able to guard the physical wings in the NBA.

How fitting it is to have Fox, Skal, and Jackson all on the same team lol. Hopefully those guys will be in the weight room together.
