Giles is a beautiful basketball talent. Wait for a couple of years. (His talent spoke to him in their workout). They traded down specifically to get Giles.

In terms of FA, yes, we want people who win, but we also want those who can develop and mentor the youth

The guy most ready to play immediately is Mason.

When they knew they were going to get Fox, their entire staff erupted in applause; they don't believe there is a problem with Fox's shot that won't be resolved with practice, and they see in Fox a gym rat so they aren't worried at all.

Again, reiterated that he wants guy who like to compete and who have fun playing the game.

Agree with all of it.

The last (and 2nd) bit though, Joe Ingles fits that description in spades. I can't stress enough he's perfect for this roster, or any young team for that matter, and worth whatever premium it's gonna cost to get him out of Utah's clutches.
We are in full agreement on Ingles. Perfect fit for the team. I think his defense is very underrated and he can guard three positions. Lights out three point shooter as well. And most of all, he's a team first guy. I'd make an offer that the Jazz are unlikely to match. The Jazz are sitting pretty right now cap wise, but they have some big decisions coming up that might make it difficult for them to match an offer for Ingles.

Yup. If they're able to retain Hayward and George Hill, which will cost a lot and have plans to retain Derrick Favors next offseason (along with Rodney Hood and Exum), thats how they could get priced out on Ingles.

I'm thinking Pop sees George Hill as Free Agent target 1b as CP3 I'm sure is 1a. That said which team is the best bet to go deep into the playoffs? Jazz have to retain their Free Agents.

Ingles would be fantastic, but probably gonna need Hayward to stay in Utah for us to have a chance.

I think its pretty clear given their draft day trade for Mitchell, they are unlikely to bring Hill back.

Well it depends on the price. There was actually a rumor floating around the extension deadline that Hill's agent thinks he can get the Max for him... He did have many career high #'s this season with Utah too, their GM Dennis Lindsey has been in win-now mode for a while, to appease Hayward,I don't think that's gonna change..

Utah won't go into tax territory for a low seed play off team. If Gordon bolts in free agency, there is no way they are bringing Hill back.

They have some depth at PG and SG so for them to trade up for Mitchell pretty much indicates their intentions. Mitchell is pretty much a younger replacement of Hill...they are similar type of PGs.

Utah had about 200 games missed due to injury this season (most in the league if you don't count Chris Bosh who was only on the Heat roster as a formality for an insurance claim) and still won 50 games. At no point was Favors even remotely healthy, even when he played, it's safe to say they would've secured home-court in the 1st round with some better luck w/injuries.

Every indication from the Millers (owners of theJazz) has been they'll go into the tax when necessary, so we'll see. I think Hayward stays, and they'll want Hill back and the GM Lindsey will get the ok to go into the tax.

One thing I'm sure of though is if Hayward bails, they'll match any offer on Ingles. Everyone, players, coaches, fans and the front office loves him there. He's got a great way about him, he's funny and tough and has excellent instincts, he's also been an excellent mentor for Dante Exum, the first player Exum ever got an autograph from was none other than Joe Ingles.

Another thing i'm sure of is the Jazz have spent a massive amount of assets on the PG position since dating back to trading up for Trey Burke. There's also a sunken cost value with Hill trading the 12th pick in last years draft for him, I don't think they'll hesitate to pony up big bucks for him, Lindsey's said he's tried to get him on the team for years now, and I don't think the plan is to pass the reigns off to some rookie.
