Alls I know is that people are saying this kid can be beast if his knees hold up.

They said that about Oden too, but we didn't pick Giles #1!

I like this no risk, insanely high reward pick.

Welcome aboard Giles! Here's to your health!

The journey of a thousand Giles begins with one step.

You never know what someone's been through until you walk in Giles' shoes.

Into the great GILES open...

Welcome to the Kings! I'm sure your confidence was shattered with your injuries but just know when you're fully healthy you are probably the best player in this draft. Make the 18 and 19 teams that passed on you regret it.

Hope this link works.....this CD tweet had a link to a YouTube video of 16 year old Harry Giles.......impressive
People who have the image of Giles as the bench big for Duke should probably remember that at one point in his high school career, there were scouts declaring that he'd be better than Karl Anthony Towns.

Just like Skal, if he pans out, he's an all-star (a less-offensively skilled KG). If he doesn't, well, we're still probably bringing over four other rookies and have three other legit big men prospects so no harm done.

He's 6'10" with a 7'3" wingspan, 9'3" standing reach, 32.5" max vert. To compare, Willie is 7' with the exact same standing rich and wingspan (his max vert is listed at 37' but it's important to note that Willie is possibly the single most athletic seven-footer in the history of the league) and Skal is 6'11.57" with a 7'2.5 wingspan, 8'9.5" standing reach (apparently he has a really tall head or really low shoulders) and a 35 inch vertical. Our frontline just got even more length than before.

Papa, by the way, doesn't have current measurements but as a youngster was reported to have a 7'6" wingspan, which is a little more proportional than those other guys but still just insanely long.

As a duke fan, i wasn't impressed with him. I'm well aware of his injuries but i much rather see Anunoby wearing the kings uniform. But good luck to him.

Wooo Hooo... this is such a great pick. The risk/reward is EXCELLENT.

I'm a big believer in Harry Giles, have been for many years. He's got an excellent repertoire of moves, excellent hand-eye coordination, he's got good instincts and timing and he's great kid. They pulled a gem here. I've always said, somehow Harry Giles is gonna find his niche and stick in the league, this is a great landing spot for him as far as I'm concerned too.

Welcome to the Kings. We'll forgive you for a tweet you made long before you met us. You're gonna like it here. Play with heart, hustle, energy and effort - and stay healthy - and you'll love being in the uniform of the Sacramento Kings. :)

What did he say about us? I haven't seen this anywhere.
I'm not gonna give it any more play than it got on Twitter before he deleted it. It was made a long time ago, and it was a typical comment about Sacramento not exactly being a premiere destination for players.

EDIT: I added it since Carmichael Dave has shared it on Twitter and Facebook. Note the date.

Thanking Sacramento Kings fans for the UNFORGETTABLE welcome
I'll remember it forever. Happy to be a
To Harry's Giles credit, he agreed to come in for pre-draft workouts, so that is big bonus points for me.

I am not going to hold a tweet he sent out at 16 years old against him.

Nice to see him make amends with this tweet though! :)

He's a King now and I will support him 110%!!!:)

His perceived ruggedness was due to the fact that he got those two major injuries and never got the proper training and practice. Before he went down, just like a lot of us had commented, he was absolutely a top 5 talent being compared to C-Webb or KG. So we might actually have a steal here if he can keep himself healthy.

Welcome to the Kings and I'm rooting for you, big guy!

I don't know man, you can hit up midtown and pull some bad ones. Maybe he hit up the old barn and stayed in a Natomas hotel for the night. Or maybe he just doesn't have any game off the court.
BTW, does anyone know how the revamping of downtown Sacramento been going since the Golden One Center opened?

Welcome Harry. I've been vouching for you for quite sometime and I'm glad that the team you ended up on was my favorite team. Go out there and prove to everyone your injuries are a thing of the past and you are ready to move forward in your career injury free from here on out, hopefully.
