The Official Draft Day thread

4 picks and no Euros. Somewhat surprised by that.

Oh hey Grant

"Don't forget Bog-dan-bog-dan-o-Vic...who..I'm sure is coming over. That's your 5th pick there..and this years Euro!"

Thanks Grant

I think the idea behind Mason was they're looking at him to be a steady back-up PG and a much more "known" commodity than Evans. Evans is the more "home-run" pick, but we already got our PG of the future (hopefully) in Fox. Love the fact that he and Fox will be pushing each other to get better.

Haha I called it too, but did it live as the draft was going. Had a little draft party...friends were amazed I hit on most of the picks. (They thought we would draft Monk at 10, I said there was no way, and we would tradeback with Portland. Once I saw the tradeback, told them it was for Collins). I guess being draft junkies does some weird things to you.

This will be an interesting competition between Fox and Mason. Mason won the Bob Cousey Award as the best Pt. Guard in College BB. This is a great pick.
Not only that, he took home a ton of awards. From Wikipedia

He was awarded multiple player of the year awards including AP Player of the Year,[12] Sporting News Player of the Year,[13] USA Today Player of the Year,[14]Oscar Robertson Award,[15] Naismith Award,[16] NABC Player of the Year[17]

Yeah but cap'n called the trade too! Also, much harder to call the picks before anyone else has even picked. Freaky good.

I watched Mason play in the tournament, and he looked pretty good, but I can't help but seeing shades of Chris Paul in Evans - outstanding craftiness and floaters. Looked like the better dribbler too. Mason certainly is the better athlete, and looked good at driving...he reminded me of the short guard on Orlando awhile back - Jameer Nelson.

Jameer Nelson as a backup PG? Sign me up!
