#10 and Hield for #3?

I haven't seen anyone suggesting this as a real possibility and don't know if Boston is interested but if they were, would you make this deal?

It would mean Fox at 3 and likely the King's choice of two of Jackson, Isaac, or Tatum.

I'd hate to trade Buddy but I would make that deal. The Kings would still have Malachi, Temple and possibly Bogdan at SG.

In a heartbeat I'd do this deal. I can't see why Boston would though. Unless they've got a deal lined up for Avery Bradley too, which is doubtful.

This would assure the Kings land a top tier PG and SF
That's pretty much my thought too. I think it would take more than that. Taking on a bad Portland contract to get another pick to throw in?

I guess it depends on how much Boston loves the guys at the top of this draft.

No......because we are not in position to give away multiple assets for a player we hope is the real deal at 3. There is an extremely good player going to be available at 10.

Yeah, I suppose part of it for me is that I don't like the guys likely to be available at 10.

No, Buddy has proven to be a very good scorer in the league already.

Why trade away a player with upside to move up 7 spots? Just doesn't make any sense for the Kings.

Now, if Boston were to trade the #3 for Buddy straight up, then I probably would. :)

#7
Yeah, I'd do that. Could net us Jackson and Fox. Would be nice.

Then we'd have : Fox / Malachi / Jackson / Skal / WCS
Raw but fun. Would have a shot at picking up another good big man next year too.

It makes sense as it guarantees a top PG and SF. We also have a oversupply of SG's especially if Bogdan makes the trip over. I dont think there's any chance of it happening but it would round out our roster.

#10
No way Boston does it.

Otherwise I would not object if it happens.
That would mean that Kings think any three of fox/jackson/tatum/isaac are better or equal to hield and makes roster more balanced.

That's my feeling. I was curious how Kings fans would feel. I like Buddy a lot but I'd do it in a heartbeat.

And I'd likely take Isaac at 5 even if Jackson is there.

I'd be tempted.

I really like Hield. And I'm one of those guys who despised the trade, and kinda wanted Hield to fail just so I could blather on about how horrible the trade was.... but dang, he looks like a legit SG starter going forward.

But two top 5 picks, in THIS draft? Shoot. Coming away with Fox and one of Isaac/Tatum/Jackson would be killer. Especially when one considers our SG depth with Malachi and Bogs (assuming he comes over).

Tough call.

I've joked about finding a way to land both Fox and Jackson, as I really like both players. I really, really like the idea of a defensive trio of WCS, Jackson and Fox -- with Temple also added to the mix in key defensive situations.

HOWEVER, my initial reaction is that I'm on the fence with it. I'd really have to think that one over if it was a legit possibility. Hield showed us a lot during his short stint in Sac last season. I realize he was the #6 selection in what was a weak draft compared to this one, but he's shown to likely be better than his draft position.

Hypothetically, if Hield was in this upcoming draft and based upon what he showed in the NBA the last half season, where do you think he'd be drafted?

Not a chance for me personally... I love Buddy and this he's going to be a winning player. The log jam at the two is unfortunate as it doesn't help in the case against this trade but I don't care... Buddy is going to be a high efficiency scorer by 2019.

#15
I think this is a case of being caught in the moment. Besides Buddy showed out last season what's the motivation to move him for a question mark? We are in a good spot right now let's take a deep breath.

nope. not desperate for 3 unless it's Fultz or Ball. Fox is NOT worth the tradeup. It's basically Cousins for Fox. nope.

that's a terrible deal for the kings. fox is not a 1 in a generation talent. can't shoot in today's NBA...arguably the most important thing in today's nba.

So much talent in this draft...at least 10 deep and guys want to trade up using multiple assets...... On a team with very few assets.

I say trust this coaching staff and give them as many young assets as possible. And right now, we have bodies at SG but Hield is still a tad unproven although, he ame here and showed he can score. If you want to trade off Hield and entrust the SG position to a Malachi and a Bogdan.......that is pretty bold and high risk. I really like Malachi but he may end up being a reserve type guy, Bogdan isn't here yet and may not pan out, and I won't count Temple as at some point, he's not going to be part of this rebuild.

This draft is 10 guys deep, keep your picks and young talent in place......this is a no brainer.

A bit off topic but I assume the Kings are going to unleash Buddy this year and he's going to go off to the tune of 20+ppg on 40%3pt shooting.
That's the following season... He's still got some growing pains to go thru I think. He's a perennial 20+ ppg scorer on 60 ts% numbers from year three on imo.

I'm not tempted because I watched Buddy shoot last year and it's about goddam time we had a shooter like that. Don't want to wait around another decade for one.

I'm really high on Buddy his shot is the best I've seen in a Kings uniform since Peja.

I'm not a big Buddy fan but I still say no to this trade, too many assets to give up for Fox. Kings need to continue to stay the course, stockpile youth and let them all play and see what you have moving forward and discard the rest.

I keep reading "assets", but the #10 isn't that freaking large of an asset. Buddy may be, but give it a rest with #10. Historically, it's a marginal pick. It could land a really good player, but so could #34. Odds are, it won't land a real difference maker.

Besides, the whole point of potentially making a deal like the one proposed here is to get the best assets you can. If Fox and Jackson are the players many think they are or will be, they'd be more valuable than what the Kings sent out for them.

Having said that, I also have reservations moving Buddy Hield because I think he very well might become one of the players the Kings are seeking. But the #10 pick isn't something I'm worried about losing at all if it helps net the team a really, really good player and potential difference maker.

Give it a rest with pick 10? Haha. Yeah, no good players ever come deeper in the draft. That's sarcasm. This draft is 10-11 deep

If they trade up to 3

buddy is already a really, really good player. He has been tested on a nba court. There is no guarantee about Jackson or Fox being good. Would u trade heild for Trob?

I wouldn't say no. I would say hell no. Buddy might already be better than #3, let alone including #10 too! Smh. This isnt a game of Uno. The object is to acquire more assets, not unload them all.
